It's pretty hard to get for a good price. Mind you all it takes is money. Think twinbee with a twist. It's average, neither bad nor outstanding. I hunted around and picked mine up for 700 yen maybe three years back.
700yen? Are you sure you don't mean 7000? Because it usually goes for 10,000-15,000 JPY depending on the condition. I paid 120 Euros for mine w/Spine & Regcard. They also used some bad ink so it sunfades pretty fast, most covers have dark brown spots from the price sticker while the rest is sunfaded. I really like the design and gameplay. Nothing OUTSTANDING, but I wouldn't call any of the Parodius games OUTSTANDING either - just fun to play & filled to the top with awesome graphics+music. While Harmful Park doesn't offer an equally amazing BGM as Konami's counterparts, it sure is an awesome game and I wouldn't call it anywhere near mediocre or bad. If you ask me, it's in the top three of all cute'em ups along with Sexy and Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius (for ss/ps). It took me ages to find a copy eight years ago and it cost about £100ish then. I sold it when I had my mass clear out 3 years later for around £120. As for the game itself, I though it was excellent. I have a bit of a thing for cute-'em-ups and it's one of the best I've ever played. It's just really good fun and pretty bonkers too :katamari:
I love it too - good solid game. Fairly easy too, one of the few PS1 shooters I can 1cc when playing on PSP's d-pad.
Yeah I paid 700 yen it was in the used section of a video / book store. They don't price too accurately in the small shops, so I go there and avoid the mainstream expensive stores.
I traded mine for one dragon ball cel (picked up out of those cheap cel boxes in mandarake) plus 50 Swiss Franc (about 40 dollars then) back in 2001 or so (in Ciber Minty). Still a good deal, even for then. And yes, nowadays it's freakin' hard to sheer impossible to find a nice copy below the 10'000ens. Let alone in the oversea market.
This is a great game. I play it on my trusty hacked PSP-2000, the greatest affordable handheld retrogaming device in existence.
