    Interesting!!!
Looking forward for any additional information you can gather.
I'd suggest you backup these up ASAP (can't remember if uLE has a backup utility, or simply copying the files, though the latter would not work if the contents are MG encrypted I guess...).

I second that. More than file backup, raw dumps of the full flash (using Memory Card Annihilator or HdProjectX), in case some deleted files can be recovered.

If there are CARD signed contents, perhaps I could reverse them.

Are these COH or SCPH memory cards ? Any FCC regulation sticker or label behind the cards ?

CXD3740r, cxd9600 is the chip inside

    QC- Quality check

    K9F4G08UOA is the flash memory

    These are retail cards

Contents may be interesting, but probably not.

    Not developer's cards.

SCPH hardware is intended to the global market. Same MGICs are also used in retail MCs.
These MCs are probably factory samples, or "pre-retail" cards that were pending for regulatory approval. Used for QA or software testing purposes but not common dev cards.
An analysis of their contents should reveal how they've been used by the Crab staff and help in knowing what they're worth.

Just curious: Were there cards with a CXD9600? I know that the controller inside my modern-day PS2 cards is the CXD3740R, but the CXD9600?

My clone cards have a "CMD9800" controller that claims to be made in Japan. Hmmm... coincidence? These clone cards have fully working Magicgate implementations as well.

If you don't mind, I'll also like dumps of them as well.

I believe that it is best to first find out what is on those cards since most of them belong to "Software Development Division 2".

A full dump of the cards will be best, using a PlayStation 2 console and MC Annihilator.

If the cards contain something we don't already have, it'll be interesting... :D

@OP: Can you tell us where that former employee was from? The more I look at the cards, it seems like they might contain stuff that was meant for a USA release... (1.30U, 210U010213a etc).

Those cards with 210U010213a somehow feel like they are related to the DVD player v2.10U (v2.10U, 2001/02/13?).

v1.30U -> The updated OSD without HDD support?

    kHACKen, my COH-10020 has CXD9600R inside. Tekken 4 JPN (TEF1 ver C)

I believe the CXD9600xx and similar chips are actually PROM (OTP factory programmable) and that's how they serialize them.

So the code stamped in their top don't really matter that much.

    Thanks for the confirmation.

Yeah, I don't get why Crab's employees of the Software Development Division 2 (never heard of if before) owned PS2 cards with the IC codes sticked to their front... other than for possible MG related purposes...

The "final" DVD Player 2.10U IOPRP image is stamped with the build date 20010411-165600
Got a rom1 dump (2.10U inside) of a SCPH-30001R unit, and its build date is 20010517-202659

First thing that passes my head when I see the picture posted by the OP is QA (Quality Assurance) ... So when testing longevity of the flash chips the brand of flash chip and firmware (type of controller chip) information being stamped on the casing does make sense.

Edit: The Japanese SCPH-10020 memory card that came with my SCPH-10000 has CXD9585R as controller chip. I believe this card is the kind that had a data corruption bug which affected the original release of Ridge Racer V.
