To change background on menu, you need a 640x480 resolution 24 bit "bit map" (.bmp) image. It should be put in a folder called "Wallpaper". To set it as background, select image, press A and you should get a prompt asking to set image as background. As for the favorite menu, press the Z button while a game is selected in the menu and find where it says "Add to favorites" press A and game will be added to favorites menu. Hope this helped. I could be wrong on the favorites but I am correct in the background image requirements. Been a while since I fired mine up. Broken controller and power supply. :mad-new: Gotta fix those soon. Miss playing Conker's Bad Fur Day...

Is it possible to use lower resolution bit maps, in order to avoid the flickering on Pal RGB modded consoles?

I'm sure if you start with a 320x200 image and then use a bog-standard 2x scale you'll get the same pixels in both fields thus reducing the flicker.

Is this a new discovery? Classically only NTSC models couldn't be modified to RGB!

Early French models can be RGB modified.

Unless KRIKzz changed something in the code it must be a 16-bit bitmap (not 24-bit). This is not a common bitmap type. It also does not have to be in a folder called "wallpaper". I believe it can be anywhere, but if you move, rename, or delete the image from that location after you set it, the OS will revert back to the default image.
