I wouldn't consider games that have 20 copies for sale on ebay at every single moment to be rare ^^ The maximum carnage, you mean the limited edition US boxset ? Yup, that's pretty rare
Get a Krikzz Everdrive MD and you will have all these games except for Wily Wars (expensive) and Virtua Racer (between common and uncommon)
Not sure about that, firstly because the cover hasn't a rating printed on it (which is compulsory in Australia), and secondly because the game was über rare until an italian seller started selling hundreds of copies of it.
Mega Man The Wily Wars is NOT an Australian exclusive, it's not even a PAL exclusive, it's just a Megadrive exclusive ''The Wily Wars was released in cartridge format in Japan, Brazil and PAL regions.'' The Genesis version pictured below is an unofficial conversion. Phantom 2040 box set, primal rage boxet, time killers boxset ecco jr daze before christmas are AUS exclusives phantom 2040 sold for $900 AUD but also soldfor £166 on ebay.co.uk, weird. Or a ridiculous amount, so will any of the AUS exclusive box sets, batman forever being one of them too. Also I don't know why someone listed Spiderman as a rare game, spiderman maximum carnage however IS a valuable PAL game. As for rare/valuable PAL games Flink Normy's beach babe o rama Woolworth's exclusive batman forever box set (just sold for £256) Samurai Showdown Second Samurai Shining Force Gunstar Heroes Phantasy Star (any) The Punisher (recently sold for £122, should have gone for more) Time Killers Ultimate mortal kombat 3 ristar streets of rage 3 alien soldier castlevania the new generation mega games volume 3 mega games volume 2 ATB tour sega sports 1 the ooze There are so many, and so many more which are debatable due to price fluctuation. Do you have more info on that, never heard of that one before and I've been researching stuff like that for Mega Drive for the best part of 15 years! I'm guessing he means the blue box animated series release, not the blackbox game with the same title which is actually Spiderman Vs The Kingpin. I wouldn't class Max carnage as rare or valuable either unless you're talking about the NTSC box set. Spiderman/Venom Separation Anxiety is a pain to get hold of too, it was one of the last games I needed for my PAL set, I ended up having to fork out £100 for it although I reckon if I'd been patient I'd have got it for around £70 . The only game I'd add to the list is Super Baseball 2020, had a tough time getting hold of that one personally, took around 5 months for a PAL copy to show on ebay when I was looking for it . The Telstar double packs and Aus Double packs are nice little rarities too, I always grab them when I get a chance
Yeah, but the topic is what are rare PAL games, not rare MegaDrive games. Before that Italian seller, I'd only ever seen the game for sale in Australia in a PAL format. I never saw it released in the UK, anyway. If anyone can clarify what regions had it, that'd be interesting. Not really. Rarity has nothing to do with current price trends. Rarity is how easy it is to find a copy. If 10,000 copies were made, it's never going to become rarer... unless someone destroys a load of copies, of course. The question was what games are rare, not what games are valuable. There are rare MegaDrive games that don't turn up often, but usually sell for peanuts when they do.
I've no idea dude I just dug up a picture. before posting it I only knew of the EU PAL version, didn't know about a brazilian variant. for all I know it could just be a faded blue cover, but perhaps a language variant on the back or the manual, something which differentiates it. as for time killers boxset i guess i was pulling that info out my ass. i get confused as im sure its one of the games that is sold with a keychain or pendant something like that, but no its not a boxset. i know flatuswalrus here has the AUS exclusive boxsets and videos on all of them primal rage batman forever phantom 2040 i guess the other one is the where in time is carmen san diego, whether exclusive or not it's a rare boxset, which i think he has up for sale on ebay now, may have ended True but sometimes you don't know how rare a game is until it's gone from a few copies on ebay to lots of copies on Ebay so for me, still learning about Megadrive games, I can't truely gauge how rare a Megadrive game is until I've seen it on ebay (or not if that would be the case) and therefore is true for anyone, specifically the thread starter, when gaining knowledge on this kind of thing. We are taking the assumption that in MOST cases, rare = valuable and vice versa see I don't even know about this spiderman game until i saw it there! For an obscure reason, the game oftenly comes in portugal in the pal box with a "garrantia sega portugal sticker" on it but with a genesis cartidge and manual. I've seen maybe 20 copies of the game like this on various portuguese websites so I think it was distributed this way there but why ???
That's a good question... If megaman wily wars was indeed released in brazil (I have no way to verify), that would mean a likely-undumped cart able to run out of the box on US systems. Their console mode is English language with 60hz.
