anyone with eBay account received e-mail notification asking to update your account details - inc. your credit card and bank account - following included link otherwise the eBay account will be suspended? Yea right! Missus just got one and asked me about it. Told her to ignore it since I don't keep any of my account details with eBay nor will be and even Paypal I don't enter my account details. If I need to use I simply create new account to pay for it and close it afterwards... just word of warning since it looks like scam artist are targeting eBay users again... Some people really have nothing better to do than cheating on other human being for living... really sad... cheers
EBAY WILL NEVER ASK YOU to send them your account information, credit card number and any other personal information. If you get an email like that. Simply delete. I just reply telling them I will send them Anthrax if they do that again.
.. Third party scammers try to rip people off this way. Everyone knows ebay rips you off using paypal. Totally different methods.
Any alleged site that asks for "all" your details normally is trying to fleece your details. The only details I was asked for by Fleabay/Paypal recently was when my Credit Card registered was due to expire. I did have a spate of e-mails asking for "all" your details or my account would be closed. scammers :axe: :snipe: :butthead: :Hangman: :smt019
Yeah, this is a total scam. I've gotten a few that contain links that go to a page that looks like a legit E-bay page, but usually the url is spelled wrong (or will just show an IP address.) They will ask for username/password, credit card number with expiration date, and the 3 digit crn number on the back, which means not only can they screw around with your account any time they want (like say, stealing paypal payments from you) they can also run up your credit card. I beleive Ebay has a page where you can report these spoof e-mails. Kind of reminds me of another on-line scam where a "company" (scam artist) will send you a bill for something (say 200 toner cartridges for a xerox machine you don't own.) So when you call/e-mail them to complain they ask you to "update your account" with your credit card/bank account number. You then recieve an e-mail that politely informs you that the mistake has been rectified as whoever it is cleans you out and flies to the Bahamas the next day. Actually with my bank account they could'ny fly down the street, but whatever.
