As of late there's been some more or less final builds of various XBL games, but specifically packaged for PNET and Devkits. While I like to see builds posted, I do feel it could start being a problem if there's more final PNET builds being posted. Seeing as it's the full game but only for Devkits (unless you repack it I suppose) it's starting to get a bit much. I'm not saying stop posting PNET builds at all. I'm just thinking it may upset MS a little bit if it becomes too much. For example, the Jet Set Radio build that was recently shared at least has an xex that is a lot more abnormal regarding security measures, but from what I've seen the rest of the data is 1:1 what the retail package is. That at least has something slightly off. Now as for the Doom 2 one that was posted today, I'm not sure if there's anything different from the retail build except for the signature on the xex in the package (I'm still looking in the data). I feel there may need to be a guideline regarding PNET builds at some point as the closer it gets to final, the more you can draw piracy into the picture.
Probably this. If the data is the same and XEX is different, that should only be posted. If it has data different, then sure.
As my own personal issue, I'm also running out of space so it would be great as well to not DL as much. But yes I'm in agreement about only the xex file being posted if all data is the same.
The problem is you really need to be into Xbox scene to know the differences. I would have no idea, personally. My solution to simply report the post as "near final / final / not beta"
