Is there not already a thread for this? Or, even more improbably, is it like 6 pages back despite the US release having been yesterday? Are people not going ape shit for this for any particular reason? Are we not all still riveted by predictably formulaic gameplay and a "not touched since 1996" storyline? All sarcasm aside, I bought it. I bought the hardcover strategy guide! I downloaded all four discs of the soundtrack, one track at a time! 203 files! I don't regret a minute of it! I'm crazy. But it's really fun. Who else has it? Friend codes? I'm not far enough in yet to be able to get online, should be there this evening though. EDIT: If I'm a bozo and I missed a prominent thread, please delete this and mail dog feces to my house, or whatever you want. I'd have earned it.
First of all, passioned gamers don't pirate anything that can be bought. That includes soundtracks. Been playing the Japanese version like every day since it came out back in September. Got both of the Japanese strategy guides. I also played the German version and beat it last week, too. But will keep playing the Japanese version for all the Wi-Fi events.
^^ Wow, that's a good price! I actually ordered the hardcopy, it's just not here yet and I wanted to listen to it TODAY, so I downloaded. I paid a lot more than that for my hardcopy though
Cool. Very nice! :thumbsup: I love the music, especially the battle themes created by Junichi Masuda. But the themes for Route 10, Ending Credits, and others are damn awesome as well.
I haven't been able to pick it up yet since I'm saving for a trip, but from what a friend said some stuff had been changed. I find it kind of annoying that TMs can be reused. Wasn't picking specific moves for specific pokemon part of the strategy in these games?
^^ Yeah, although I can't say I'm really bothered by it. I see the primary value in B&W as the WiFi battling. If I decide a given Pokemon needs a certain TM when I start putting together a team after beating the main story, I don't want to find out that I've already used it and I need to play through again. I wish I hadn't sold my copy of Diamond. NO idea why I did that. Now I don't have anything to migrate over once that feature opens up. Ideally, I want every Pokemon from all five generations playable on this cartridge.
Yeh about that, you're looking at coughing up about 500+ Pokemon. Care of a Action Replay I was able to get Mew on Red for a total of all 151, without booting up the cart I can't begin to recall how long that took (likely more than 100 hours. I'm at 40 something with Diamond right now and am 5 short of completing the "seen" portion of the Pokedex. I too sold Diamond and repuchased it a few months ago, now I'm looking for a second uberly cheap DS to run the roms on for the GameStop distributions). Frankly I have absolutely no clue how anyone will manage to get every pokemon onto one cart in their lifetime.
To get Mew back in 1997? That was the only way unless you wanted to travel well out of your way here in the States. It was either "cheating" or getting extremely lucky (or traveling from here in California to a giveaway in NYC). Either way with Black and WiFi it really isn't necessary to "cheat".
I had Mew on my copy of Blue, which I don't think I own anymore. I know it'd been cloned a billion times, but I'm not sure if it was an Action Replay Mew or a legitimate NYC event Mew originally. No way to tell, I imagine. I wish I could find that cart.
Hello everyone, I agree WanganRunner, I also reserved white and the strategy guide. I have enjoyed the Pokemon games as well and will enjoy this one just as much. I have never gotten a complete pokedex, but I am still going to try and I do think it is possible to get a complete pokedex in a lifetime. I haven't ever gotten a legit Mew, I would like to meet someone who got a legit real Mew in Blue and Red. That would be great. Bye. :cur_sonic: :luigi:
