Browsing ebay for protos, found pure gold. Not sure if this is the right place to post this but considering Pokemon protos are very rare and obscure it seemed fitting to post this here. Prototype is in German, and if I do remember correctly there is a German proto of Ruby that drx found. UPDATE: The same seller as the silver cart also has a Pokemon Crystal prototype for sale. It appears to be the german version. ^^ Its odd though because it is in an almost beta state for a international release. I'm wondering if they mean "spielzeit" as in play time or season. German being my second language I'm not always keen on context and syntax.
I was looking at these a few days ago. It sounds more like a demo preview than a beta, with the blocked off areas and such. Maybe translation wasn't finished for the whole game at that point? Still very cool.
Pokemon Silver came out in 2001 in Germany, while the first, original JP release came out in 1999. Protos from European countries usually are nothing interesting. I'm doubting this is gold, especially since out of the differences the seller can show all there is is just boring stuff missing. That price is absurd for what it is, I can't imagine who would buy it. Seller could have tried not making themselves appear delusional by at least putting the Make an Offer option.
Yeah, it even says "TOWN MAP" instead of "KARTE" which means it's based on the English version. I guess this is just a very lazy made demo for preview purposes.
