I loved Snatcher, and started Policenauts in Japanese a few years back. I don't know why I didn't continue with it, but I really like the sort of game. Where can I obtain this?
http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=policenauts+english+iso I think I quite enjoyed Snatcher, but it was a long time ago. I did have a crack at Policenauts when the English patch was released but didn't get far. My memory is that the dialogue was a little too trashy. Probably just wasn't in the mood more than anything.
I think that's it. I got it a long time ago , but just recently transfered it to my psp. It's a very good translation too, no graphics corruption or subtitles out of place, looks legit.
I really hope they can get someone to help them with the Saturn translation, last time I checked, which was in fairness a while ago, they needed someone with Saturn programming knowledge. I guess we could be in for a long wait for that one...
Saturn emulation is almost perfect, as long as you have a decent CPU (as in, made in the past few years). Also, it's pretty easy to mod a Saturn, as long as it's a Model 1. No mod-chip required.
Saturn policenauts is uncensored too. I played and completed the Japanese one a few years back. I really enjoyd it although there were a few parts I couldn't understand due to them being scientific based. An english translation would be great for the Saturn bt J doubt it will ever happen.
I wonder why Konami doesn't realize how many people still wants to play games like Snatcher and Policenauts. They could easily release it on PSN / XBLA and i'm sure it would be very profitable. I'm still waiting for PC Engine Castlevania Rondo of Blood on US PSN. And what about a Gradius or a Parodius compilation?! If people pay for crappy ports of Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi and other terrible games online, why not a fantastic game like Snatcher or Policenauts? And i don't even like digital distribution, but on this case it would the smart way to go. It's just amazing how companies with classic old games don't seem to like money. Still they wake up, emulation is the way to go then.
Ah, I will most certainly obtain that Policenauts thing. Poking around the Internet, I also found that there is an unofficial Snatcher port to the DS. I will most certainly try that too, to see how it works. Now, in other subjects... Saturn Emulation already exists? WTF? When did this happen!? Last time I heard it was impossible... If I had, say, an Intel Core Duo processor and 2GB Ram, and an Nvidia 7600, would that be enough?
lolwut? But yeah, otherwise I agree. If they go with digital distribution, they could even go the Nintendo route and sell every game separately. Guess the last time was a few years ago... Pretty much any Core 2 Duo should be enough, so you need to download SSF now.
Castlevania is out on Virtual Console. Several compilations have been released for PSP such as Gradius, Salamander, Parodius and Twinbee. The original Chi no Rondo is also featured on Dracula X Chronicles... But if you want it on PSN in particular, you're fucked - yes Anyway, I think there are already enough ports available. Gradius 1-4, all the Parodius and Salamander games can be played arcade-perfect on PS1.
It's on Virtual Console, but why not on PSN and XBLA also? Did Nintendo paid for exclusivity? If not, it's just dumb. This is the kind of game that would sell more on PS3/X360. All those PSP compilations are fine for those who actually have a PSP. Still, why not make some extra bucks and port it to PSN / XBLA to achieve a bigger audience?
I completed Policenauts about a month ago. bought Policenauts at a classic game show, ripped it translated with the patch. Then converted it to play on my psp while I commuted to and from work. I really enjoyed the game.
