EDIT for giving background information: These 2 guys were known for getting a lot of games banned in USA and had a huge influence on Singapore and Malaysia, to get thier arcades shutdown. A lot of thier shit started around when DOOM came out. anyone else dislike these turds Joe Lieberman John McCain
Sorry but why do you feel the need to post things like this on a gaming forum? Not only that but on a forum that has an off topic section that you decided not to use. What does this have to do with general gaming?
Eh? is this game related in some way? Like Paulo said, why not use the offtopic? time to move this. By the way, that bottom guy looks like Steve Martian  yakumo
well they were the ones that got lots of games banned, got id soft who pioneered FPS games in trouble, got lots of arcades in Malaysia banned, so I think they are related to gaming.
how come you think McCain is cool? He was right next to Leiberman whenever he was attacking the video game industry.
Please name more than one game that has been banned in the US. I am not talking about games that have been blacklisted by retailers like Walmart, I mean actually banned and illegal to own or buy within the US. I can think of one, and it wasn't banned for violence.
Liberman is definetly an opportunistic scumbag, that's for sure. The guy is a neocon in everything but name only (which would be okay, except he's trying to pass himself off as a progressive Democrat, which he's not.) Although I've made it clear over the years how much I despise Bush, I sure am glad this guy isn't a heart attack away from the Oval Office. McKain on the other hand, well I don't know. He seems to have good points and bad points. I'm not too hot on his approach to things like hemispheric free trade deals (ala NAFTA or the other super version of NAFTA they've been trying to pass for the last six years.) However I really think he is something that a lot of Republican politicains can't claim to be, that is a decent human being. The whole torture law that got passed was all becasue of McKain. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have a guy in charge who's seen the horror of war, maybe he's be a little reluctant to get us into another one. He is a little misguided when it comes to other things though (videogame censorship for instance.) But you can't blame the guy, he's a conservative. He doesn't know any better. Between the two I'd probably vote for McKain (I know, I know, me the loony liberal voting for a conservative.) Mainly becasue Liberman is one of those two faced stab-you-in-the-back types who would say one thing and do another (like say, Bush) while McKain is one of those angry boss types that bring you into the office to yell at you and is a jerk, but doesn't lie about stuff.
Comparing Mccain to Lieberman isn't very fair to McCain. Like Hawanja said, Lieberman is the quintessential politician, while McCain seems to be someone who entered politics to do what he feels is needed to better this country. He makes decisions based on what he truly belives to be right, but at the same time wants to hear opposing views(unlike bush and the rest of the neocons) and can sometimes be persuaded to change his opinion(unlike almost every other politician who, regardless of the facts, will never admit they were wrong). I don't think he would, but if McCain has said anything to the effect of "games are not art" or "all games are violent trash", I have no doubt if he talked with someone who really understands games and the potential they have he could easily be convinced that some games are art(or atleast damn close). I haven't read everything McCain has said about video games, but I would bet money he simply doesn't want 12 year olds to be able to purchase games like gta. Honestly, who thinks young kids should be able to purchase games like that? While Lieberman would probably be thrilled if no one could buy violent games. I don't agree with McCain on everything, but if all republicans were like him I would likely be a registered conservative. I would say 80% of this country agrees with conservative ideals at their most basic level, (freedom/power of the individual, the right to do what you want as long as it doesn't effect the rights of others, the right to privacy, etc.) but the modern republican party has done a complete turn on some of their most important ideals(privacy, freedom to control your life and body) while taking some to such an extreme level it almost seems insane(the religious influence comes to mind). In short McCains a decent guy trying to make a difference, and who bases his decisions on logical thinking and open debate. He may not get everything right(who does?), but he's one of the few honest leaders in Washington.
Thats exactly how i feel about McCain. He seems more down to earth than most popular democrats and popular republicans. I honestly forget if he is still republican or not. I'm not really sure. Anyway I don't think McCain is the type who would want to completely censor all videogames. When the governmet steps in to limit the content they put in videogames, that is when practically all companies (developers/publishers) are running rampant in putting nothing but violence and sex in games. I doubt it will ever get like that, not as long as people have morals and buy more positive themed games than negative themed games. If McCain runs in 2008, he has my vote.
I'm not sure if I'd vote for him, but if he got elected I wouldn't dedicate my life to bringing him down.
