Please post pictures of your soldering/ device and connections to the motherboard. Have u correctly identified which COM port your device is connected to. Is your Xbox in service mode?

I would double check your eeprom reader soldering, the legs look tangled in the db9 header. Also make sure that your probes are making good contact with the motherboard and make sure the Xbox is booting into service mode (disconnect HDD and DVD. Orange and green light flashing.) also make sure that your device is showing up in pony prog.

Check the serial number in the eeprom matches your Xbox serial number (on bottom of box). Maybe try configmagic. You may still have a corrupted eeprom read. Check your soldering/wiring. It's always good to do 3x reads of the eeprom and then check them with a hex comparer for errors. Make sure your eeprom is in the same folder as livebeta3 then hit read.

Error 05 - HDD is not locked

A softmodded Xbox requires a LOCKED HDD. Why'd you unlock it?

You'll have to use a PC and XBOX HDD locking app of some kind to relock it.

Do you have an EEPROM backup saved to your PC -- EEPROM.bin?

    Why'd i unlock it?
because I am a dumbass who don't know about technology.
I bought modchip Aladdin xt because I thought it is going to fix error 05. I already fix the stock HDD with xboxhdm1.9 thru PC and CD. I put the eeprom.bin in the cd-r that I burned. and run it thru PC and fix it already. it was my fault that I didn't ready carefully. I was excited to do it quick because I made to play some Xbox games.

If u already had the eeprom.bin, why have u been struggling to make an eeprom reader and read from the mobo?

I once managed to unlock an Xbox HDD while trying to hotswap to soft hack. Ended up with an error 6 or 7. Had to build an eeprom reader and extract the eeprom from the motherboard then built a new 240gb HDD with softmod using ndure and xboxhdm. Now I use it whenever i need to recover an Xbox HDD or read any eeprom.

to share what I experience. wanted to see if the Xbox 1.6 motherboard is the problem or the electric company that I pay bills. because now it does the missing acknowledge -12 again.

I might need a wall portable electric generator.

    How long are the wires?

You should try to keep everything as short as possible.

    It's all a learning experience.

Glad you were able to resolve the error 05 situation.
