Is there a trick to play decently? all the machines' LCD screen darkens and get unpleasant to play. Anyone creted a special film to apply at the screen or anything making things better?
i wish. If there's a magical fix for this please! I don't remember this issue with the original gameboy, it started with the GBC...
Beat Super Mario Galaxy 2 with all stars (242) and broke a Wii remote in the process. I 100%'d GTA SA on PC for the first time but used a guide for the oysters, spray tags and horseshoes.
Is your TV outside in the sun or something? As for a fix, I coulda swore there was screen covers which supposedly made the glare less of a problem, but I notice no difference if there is any...
Somebody should make a handheld with an e-ink display. As for right now, pretty much the only solution is to find some shade.
What's the white-to-black-to-white response on an e-ink screen? It may be way too slow for action, then again I've never done much more than peek at a device with one.
I was kidding, although it might be possible at some point in the future. When I've used e-ink displays like the Kindle, it takes about 1 second to turn a page. So yeah... no way that would work for games. However, it's possible that they could develop an e-ink display with a much faster refresh rate. I don't think that's happening any time soon.
What? BTW i don't really get the reason for the lcd getting black in the sun even after reading tech documents... wouldn't putting a non glossy reflective layer below it work? From my understanding it should but if it is so easy why no-one tried?
peak 1 (pk) n. 1. A tapering, projecting point; a pointed extremity: the peak of a cap; the peak of a roof. Easy. A carboard flap + weak adhesive sellotape on the top of your portable = blocks the sun from above, it doesnt have to be huge either. If you are that bothred you can make a little shroud without much effort to block the sides too. Or wear a baseball cap or other peaked cap correctly... or both
I thought the original GBA was great under the sunlight since it has no lighting. That's what I heard but I don't have one to confirm. I think the Neo Geo Pocket Color is also good but I never played mine outside. I do need to be in a well lit room to play it.
The worst offender was the GBA, i remember playing sonic advance 2 on a train to an interview... Or at least trying to... as I literally couldn't tell if it was turned on or not when in any degree of direct or non-direct sunlight.
