    hello, im new around here.

anyways, is there any kind of flash card for the gba that allows you to play snes roms on it? i have a lot of roms and i would like to be able to play them on the go, and a nifty rom player for boring times.

i know zodiac can do it but that thing costs a lot. any ideas?
    thanks

There is an SNES emu for the GBA but the gba isn't powerful enough to fully emulate SNES. I forget the name of the emulator but the only thing it couldn't do was sound. However, someone found out how to overclock the GBA and hopefully, when overclocked, it could support sound functions.

I think there is a full speed SNES emu for GP32 but I may be wrong.

Give it a few more months and ninty will have eventually released every SNES game ever released onto the GBA...

    ........

the gp32 has a pretty respectable SNES emulator, you can run a few games with sound etc and wth minimal frameskip, but its like most early SNES emus for the PC theres work to be done! Im more interested in the GP32's FGEN, which is suprise suprise a megadrive/genesis emulator. Already runs ALOT of games full speed with no sound, but theres a new version with limited sound surport which is due for release soon I think.

As GBA emulators, the PCENGINE emu is ok, but not seen much of the snes emulation so I wont comment on that........

Say... if you would care to elaborate about what emulators (and other homebrew progs perhaps?) on the GP32 you found worthwile I would be most grateful... somehow I havent found that much info on the web (found a Spanish website which I cant read), I didnt know about FGEN having no sound :-(
    Thanks in advance :smt023

Dont worry Anti, most of the good stuff for the GP32 will be winging its way to you very soon as I collected most of it and put it on CD's to go with the unit!.........The things I dont have are:

The SNES Emu and Genesis emu as there always avilible (obviously roms permitting!).......

But other notes: NES Emulation is near perfect, Sega Master System is near perfect, Gameboy is near perfect, GB Colour is OK a little slow sometimes but works, PC Engine is good, the emulator GPENGINE lets you overclock the CPU to a maximum of 166Mhz but is unstable at that speed with some games, runs near perfect at clock speed of 150Mhz with framskip on 1. I use it to play Bomber94 and gunhed 3 ALOT.

What else.......GameBoy advance is still being worked on, there is a working emulator but its frame is rate is really low and thats with no sound emulation, so GBA may be on GP32 wish for a long while, but the emu shows it can be done!

PC games using the SCUMM engine is excellent, day of the tentacle, sam and max, monkey island etc are all working on the GP32 with sound and speech, its great playing DotTenticle on a bus with the full talkie version, you can see the envey in the GBA fan boy faces...great stuff.....then theres the home computer emulators, C64, Spectrum, Atari's etc, most of the machines have an emulator for them and most full speed, sound etc.

The CD's Im sending with the GP32 Anti have the following on them (from memory):
    GPENGINE
    NES
    MASTERSYSTEM
SCUMM (DotD and Sam and Max)
    DOOM2
    GAMEBOY

and a load of other stuff, system utlitys, divX players etc so it should keep you entertained for a few weeks at least......but always check out

    http://www.gp32x.com/

upto date news and links to the best projects, oh yea, also has an excellent version of BEATS OF RAGE for the little handheld, aviliable from various sources.......
