There have been a lot of these recently on ebay purporting to be the usual Chinese MP4 players, but with NES/SNES ROM capability (even namedropping the NES/SNES) Anyone know if it's true, and if it's even useable? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3-260k-Record...5QQihZ014QQcategoryZ73839QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I wouldn't mind a little PVR thingy, and if it does actually play SNES games half decently it could be cool.
Yea, from what I understand these things just run hacked up emu's, Snes9x and such. Personally, i'm not sure how much I like that reversed looking controller buttons. The price seems too good though, which makes one wonder if the quality of the thing is good or not. It wold almost be worth a risk because it is so cheap but I think I would still reccomend instead a GP32x or PSP for portable emulation / media. Costs more, but both have active homebrew scenes and at least with the PSP you get emulation up to the PSOne. If you do get one post your impressions though ;-)
I considered importing a load of these a few months back, but decided to not bother, I couldn't be bothered with the hassle of shifting 100 units if they turned out to be duff. You can ask for a sample off the company who produces them, it will set you back about £40 or so. Also they come with different sizes of internal memory (up to 4 gig I think).
