Hey guys I've downloaded some DLC from the debug marketplace which I'm hoping to get working before the weekend but it needs a title update. I've taken the latest update from my retail 360 and extracted the default.xexp file and combined it with the original default.xex using Xextool but I don't know if I've done it correctly.

When I boot the game up it says something along the line of "Some downloadable content is missing retry." then restarts to the XDK menu.

In the title update it does have 4 .xexp files but I was under the impression I only needed to do the default one.

I've since read that I can put the patch in the cache file but still nothing works. I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me solve this issue.

Edit: The 360 I'm running it from is a standard debug.

Many DLC on pnet are for testing purpose.
Extract it and see if it's a real DLC.

Extracted and it real DLC. Has similar file names and sizes compared to those on the game. Dashboard and Horizon list it as DLC.

Tittle updates (or XEXP files) are differential patch files. So if say a particular game has multiple title updates, only the last needs to be applied.

Now if a title update has multiple XEXP files (example default.xexp, multiplayer.xexp), then each of these patches needs to applied to their respective executable (XEX).

Another important item. You can't apply a retail title update to a debug exectuable or vise versa. This is why you must apply a retail title update to a unmodified retail executable and then modify them to work on debug units.

I hope that makes this a little less muddy.

That worked great thanks! I think the issue I was doing was combining a modified executable with the unmodified patch.

    Thanks again appreciate it guys!

Yeah I'm doing the same here. It's a bit of a hassle but the problem I'm having is recompiling XBLA Titles into CON. Although I dump retails to dev not dev + retail.
