My old 40 gig drive I had in my debug xbox has finally given up. I also currently have no debug bios flashed to the modchip. I'm getting error 13 now I've stuck another drive in. I labelled it as a 10GB debug drive, I assume thats what it is, but it just wont boot. Normally a retail modded bios will boot to the stock dash, but I'm getting error 13, and it refuses to load anything from dvd. Launches a "backed up" copy of half-life 2 just fine, but wont run an evo-x install disk, the XDK recovery disk wont run and the HeXens disk is just flashing red eject at me with the ind-bios logo on the screen. It's flashing red at the same rate it would usually flash green upon an eject.

I found one reference to it being a bad EEPROM, and given that I have used both the XDK updater application and disc, it's a possibility.

    Any thoughts?

After trying with 2 dead hard drives, I eventually got the XDK updater disc to write enough data to a good drive to get it to boot. I then copied XBMC over using the XDK Xbox Neighbourhood, used FTP to copy UnleashX to C:, rebooted with the ind-bios, used FTP to copy over EEPromer, and used that to write a backup of another consoles EEPROM to the dead one. Long winded but it worked :)
