Finally got night of the sacrifice for wii before the sucker went out of print like a lot of stuff is. Also a couple of ds games i never got around to buying, custom battler bomberman & happy star band which is a pretty obscure music game. One of those kinds that quietly sneaked out.

How's Ikenie no Yoru? I remember it has an interesting concept (you can't fight the ghosts, right? Just run away when they appear?), does it annoy you rather than that it works out or is it a good idea? Also, how's the atmosphere - anything close to Project Zero / Rei?

Only played the first 2 levels so far but it has a very creepy feel, the ghosts are like the ones in Nanashi no game on the ds, same look & even the same whispering wheezy sound so they creep the shit out of me. Not been able to fight ramps up the scare factor when all you have is a torch and your been chased while frantically searching the room for an exit. The torch mechanic works really well it behaves just how you would expect, the graphics are pretty basic but they have gone for the stylized approach as theres a weird moving grainy filter over everything so it looks like your playing a flashback. Hmm not really the same kinds of feel as in fatal frame 0 but i'd say just as good but in a different way, the atmosphere is that same one of not wanting to go down the corridoor as you damn well know your going to get jumped, the lighting in this is really good for that as the torch is pretty dim so loads of shadows for things to hide in.

That all sounds really cool. But I just googled a picture so I get an idea what kind of ghosts would attack me and I have to say "no thanks", but that's too creepy for me, hahah. I wish I could play a game like this, but I've already chickened out when I got my copy of Project Zero 1 for PS2. Silent Hill is fine, but games like Project Zero/Siren and these ones (Nanashi no Game / Ikenie no Yoru) just fuck with my vivid imagination. o_o

I just purchased Ceville @ £2.49 in the Steam Daily Sale.

After spotting it was 75% off then having a look at the trailer I figured I'd have me some of that :p Yes it is 3 years old, yes I could have got the physical copy for a similar price if I was willing to wait a week. The catch is the physical copy wasnt marketed at me in any shape or form whatsoever, is long out of print and would cost more off eBay :p

Not all games but all Retro (in a way)

For Mega Drive there's Runark and the fantastic but quite tough, Yohko Devil Hunter. Also 2 more BluRays from the states being The Thing and Gremlins. Two timeless classics that everyone should own. And as always, they cost next to nothing thanks to the poor state of the US dollar to the Japanese yen. Just buying one of those discs would cost more than what I paid for both from Amazon US shipped to Japan.

finally got that Zelda tote bag I was trying to track down, it's surprisingly large compared to what I was imagining, the photo doesn't really capture the shine it has too, very quality bag, shame it is so hard to find now

I got and yet it moves @ £1.99 in the Steam Daily Deal last night.

It isn't what I would normally go for, but it was cheap, quirky, worked with my xbox 360 controller and despite the lack of polish it looked quite interesting.

EDIT: I bought Eufloria @ £2.24 in the Steam Daily Sale. It is an Indie game and only rated at 63% but an interesting concept

    DOPE.

Is that like a newer release? Or something that came out when the game originally came out? I've never seen it before but it's definitely a sweet item.

They were sold by hot topic about 3 or 4 years ago I guess, for a surprisingly low price of 15-20 bucks, I paid alot more than that for this one. Seems they are pretty hard to track down at this point unfortunately, very rad bag though

Some new stuff today. Under Defeat HD normal edition for the 360 and two new Bluray discs, Nightmare on Elm Street 2 and 3 and Lost in Translation. A fantastic movie that really does depict life in Japan for a foreigner pretty well regarding the communication side.

It's a pity that the X360 version of Under Defeat HD isn't region free :-( (I know the PS3 version is region free, but I rather play it on X360). Perhaps an XBLA release for Europe/America will follow eventually.

You know, the whole HD is actually a load of crap. I'm pretty sure the game uses all the same art as the Dreamcast version. this version looks no better than a Dreamcast through VGA. However, the new 16:9 mode is like playing a whole new game. G.Rev have tweaked the game mechanics quite a bit resulting in a very well done true wide-screen experience. The bottom line is that Under Defeat still kicks arse all these years later!
