Is that the same issue mentioned here, or are its symptoms not quite alike? Normally English mode shouldn't impact graphical Japanese.
The article says modded systems aren't affected but we have nothing to lose.

I haven't seen the programming of Freeloader get compared to modchips.

I don't know anything about the technical side, all I can tell you is from my own experience. I can't set my PAL Gamecube to Japanese, but my JPN Gamecube can be set to whatever language. My JPN F-Zero was lacking ALL the menus, making it impossible to play. Therefore it would be best to mod a Japanese Gamecube I guess.

Yeah I can't blame you not owning Action Replay. I'm among the lucky ones who grabbed it years before prices rose. Nonetheless I didn't get a buyer last time I foolishly tried selling the thing IIRC a year or so ago.

Managed to get AV Pretty Girl Fighter, guessing this a reproduction but there isn't much information on the different coloured cart.

    Update time.

    Good news:
I did not fry this extra Gamecube. It lives, LIVES! :encouragement:
Doesn't need screws to operate. (overheating is another story, I know better than play much)
    I've cleaned out its dust.

    Bad news:
Still US region. My original goal an utter failure in every sense of the word.
    Too lazy to complete reassembly.

What, all of that stuff for $40? o_O

I got an original backwards compatible ps3 at a garage sale for free. Was in parts and looked like there was no hope for it. turns out it just needs a new power supply and disc drive. Otherwise, it runs perfectly, and on 3.15 firmware. Could actually use a new chassis too. In the same box as this free ps3 were 2 n64 controllers, and an xbox controller, still all free.

I also got a brand new ps2/ps3 component cable, original for $6 and a gamecube component cable, original, for $4 :congratulatory: never thought I'd own one of these gamecube cables, at least not for that price.

Yeah. Nice deal on the component HD cables!

Here's how my deals went down- got Macbook Pro for free from craigslist, then went out to a far off suburb to fix a friends laptop, then went downtown to fix 3 other laptops and got one for free (Macbook) + $80, then went to a friends new apartment for a tour, then went to someone who was selling the monitor for $120.
So, it technically only cost me $40 because $120-$80=$40.

However- it cost me an entire day of being on public transit. The entire day, no exaggerations here. Left house @ 9:10 AM, came back by 5:15 PM :/

    Thanks. :smile-new:

It'll be nice to stop the mystery runes in favor of katakana and hiragana.

A working Dell PowerEdge 2650 for £22 posted. How they are making money off this I have no idea. Fully working with 2x Intel Xeon processor @ 2ghz and 2gbs of ram.

Got myself this mint copy of Shenmue NTSC-U for only £10 here in the UK!

Very happy, replacing my PAL collection for NTSC ones :)

    I have no shelf :p

    Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars @ £3.74,
    Command & Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath @ £2.49,
Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 @ £3.74,
    Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 Uprising @ £2.49,
and Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight @ £3.74 in the Steam Midweek Madness sale.

A friend of mine bought these in the Christmas sale but I couldn't afford them at the time. I can't believe it took nearly 7 months to come on offer again - both need the steam version to play together and the price was right so... :p

Also at the weekend I forgot to post I spent a small fortune on the Warhammer sale. I got the original Dawn of War + expansions, the complete DLC bundle for Dawn of War II and Spacemarine + DLC.

I'm still investigating F-Zero GX. Having picked up a Japanese copy, it appears that problem may actually be due to trying to load a prototype of the English version. I've noticed the voice subtitles are in English without using Action Replay's fix code!
