Ended up with a series of good deals starting with inquiries as to a ps2 test 10k on ebay, and ended up making a good relationship with a seller clearing out a relative's apartment ( a Taito employee who had recently passed away)..
    So far:
DTL-H10000 (boxed with Taito inventory sheet and all parts asset tagged)
DTL-H10000 (loose, but all asset tagged components included)
    DTL-H1001 (loose)
6 new boxes of CD-R71PS, and one sealed loose disc marked "SAMPLE" (61 discs total)
Miscellaneous import PS2 games (mostly Taito trash, but seller didn't know what they were and didn't want to be troubled with listing them, so sold them to me instead)

They're currently looking for other items as they go through the apartment, and there's word of a "red" playstation one....
no clue if that means aftermarket case, or something altogether different...

as prices on debugging stations have gone down, I'd say the pricing was good, not "garage sale holy crap", but good- I mainly was looking for a single H10000 marked "TEST", and instead ended up picking up a bit of a nice collection with some reliable information of its origin.

Got Halo 2 two days before it came out for $20. Big deal back then. It's not what you know, it's who ya know. Also found a complete NES at my parents. Ours had broken and was tossed, so who it belonged to was anyone's guess. I got to keep it :D . On silvertag.com when it had just started up I got a new Zune 30 gig for under $7, shipped free.

To a friend of mine, he bought a new iPod nano for $10 off of someone who needed cash bad. Douchebag lowball, but whatever works.

I traded rock band (with just the drums) for a Dreamcast with 20 games. They weren't just crappy games either. There was Skies of Arcadia, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, and House of the Dead 2 to name a few.

Just picked up a LaserActive Pioneer CLD-A100, a Pioneer CLD-D502 LaserDisc Player, 33 Laser Discs, and my CDL-A100 came with the Sega PAC (PAC-S10/PAC-S1) expansion. All for $60.
All in great condition besides the CLD-D502, where the disc gets off track while playing.
    Picked up on Craigslist today.

About a year ago I was passing through Mirboo North and my wife stopped to get a drink at the Milk Bar, and I noticed there was this really groady old PC shop next to the milk bar, so I was looking through the window. There was heaps of crappy bootlegged games all for about $5, but I could see deeper in the store was a range of old big-box games.

I walked into the shop and looked at the big-box PC games and saw System Shock Enhanced CD Version still sealed with the EA Seal of Quality on the outside of the shrink wrap. I took it to the counter to ask how much it was.

"$15", he said.. "Oh wait... is that an XP game?",
"No, this is a DOS game." I said.
    "Oh, $5 then."

Last year I got my bc PS3 for nearly free.
The guy that owns the flea market shop I work at bought it and a bunch of other crap for 80 bucks. The PS3 wouldn't power-on. I repair shit for him all the time. After a few hours of trying to get the power supply to stop blowing fuses, I ended up just spending the $45 on a pulled working PSU and it's been running good ever since. I then decommissioned my 80gig non-bc, and made this my main unit. Then I sold my 80gig recently when I was in a bind for cash... luckily to a friend, so I can visit it on occasion.

    But as for the 60gig:
I basically traded the time it took for me to do a couple PS2 clean/repairs.

    So, some time and $45...

Just bought a Sega CDX, for a cool $60.00 pesos, which is about $5.00 USD, it doesn't have any cables, just the Sonic CD game that came with it, but it's pretty awesome since it's in mint condition and works perfectly. Also about a month ago I came across a boxed 32X, for about $8.00 bucks. Simply awesome.

Just snagged a SNES Jr/SNES 2 with a bunch of games for $20. Some guy was trying to sell it as used at a local FYE, but the silly employees had no idea that it was a real SNES. They all thought it was clone. Talked him in to giving it to me and not dealing with them.

So I walk into a Gamestop yesterday to grab a copy of Xenosaga III before they get retarded-expensive, and as I go to purchase it, I see a little gem glistenning from behid the counter - a complete copy of Arc the Lad for PS1. Worth about $60-80 or so. I of course asked how much for it and they employye said that it wasn't for sale. Then he told me how he got it. Someone came in to trade in all of their PS2/PS stuff. Arc the Lad included. The employee told this guy that they can't offer any money for it, and he replied with, "well take it anyways." so the Gamestop guy got it for free.

Another cool thing that actually happened to ME was about 3 or so years ago: I went to a Barnes and Noble and found a Lunar: Eternal Blue strategy guide. That's right, the Sega CD version, in brand new condition (mild wear around the spine). The price on the back was $16 (if I remember right, it's in storage), but was technically on clearance - it was $4!!!!!!! And now it's mine! In this condition it'll fetch a pretty penny.

I got a sealed copy of metroid fusion for £2.99 yesterday. I popped into the only charity shop open on a bank holiday just because it was open really. It was sitting there waiting for me.

Don't know how good this is but at a car boot sale recently I got a TRS-80 (green-screen, 16k and L2 Basic), Sony tape recorder, and around 100 tapes (25 blank, the rest random software/games) for a tenner!

Just purchased a game.com in like new condition, with 3 games all of them with manual, for 3 bucks, not that incredible a system, but still pretty neat to get it so cheap.

I was carting an empty arcade machine out of my college row home in Philadelphia and my neighbor came up to me and asked if I liked video games, and I was like, yes of course, and he walked back into his house and came out with a Virtual Boy! Came with the AC Adapter, controller, and Wario Land. One of the lenses has the problem with the horizontal lines but it seems like a common problem so I don't think it will be a hard fix. 20 minutes of playing it left me with a massive headache... I don't think it will be getting much playtime.
