It's actually quite easy. The whole site is made up of about 10 CGI scripts (I'm probably going to make it one big one soon). Each CGI script has a sub-routine to write out the top, left, and right side of the page. The only thing unique to each script is the middle part of the page, and a lot of the pages are very similar - only requiring a minor tweak. So, I can't take all the credit -- the script does most of the writing for me.
:Hangman: , my website is offline till the 1st of june!!!... this month I passed the 5 gigabyte datalimit rayer: ... the last few days it was about 500MB a day!!!.... unbelievable so much on just a little personal website. My website *Posted in the wrong area, so I moved it to the right area - Yakumo* jollyrogerdev Posted: Wed May 26, 2004 10:48 am Post subject: My website... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello everybody, I just put up a tiny website that Ii will be updating every now and then with pictures of the hardware I have. Sorry for the terrible looks, I am really bad at web design... http://jollyrogerdev.ath.cx
Jollyrodger, that's an amazing collection of goodies you've got there. I'm looking forward to any updates that you may have on the way. Yakumo PS: Just noticed that I had deleted a few people's comments about your site when I moved your post. Sorry rayer:
Yakumo, that's ok, don't worry about the posts, and thanks a lot for the compliments! I'll try to update the site when I have more stuff or when I do experiments with the hardware I have...
Since Yakumo deleted jollyrogerdev's topic, I'll post here again: jollyrogerdev, could you provide us the R2 SDK? I'd love to se the early DC soft/doc? I can store the files on my ftp for sometime. I'm sure everyone here would be glad rayer: PD
I think this is an update to be proud of. Added almost all of the Dreamcast Magazine Demo GD-ROM's to the promo sction. Contents of each disc are also listed. Sega no Game ha Sekai Ichiiiii! Original Anime: A video clip featuring Sega's psychotic mascot. Unfortuantely quite short. I got this off of one of the demo discs in the promo section. I had one other update I wanted to do, but didn't get around to it.
Hey guys, haven't updated in a while (as I've spent a lot of time working on an AGS game.) Anyway, a small update this week, listed on the homepage. http://hawanja.com
I've added a couple of things to Press Start, most notably the fact that I found a couple of SNES Satellaview games in a local Cash Convertors. Best update of recent note (because I'm new here and nobody visits Press Start) is internal hardware shots of a Hartung GameMaster, which shows how poorly they were put together. I also added Hawanja's Games Database to my links page, because it rules. Great work on it! http://www.angrypixel.net/pressstart
My site now has a whole new look to the front and news page. I think it looks much more pleasing to the ete than the old gray version. Yakumo
www.uk.playright.dk The Launch of www.uk.playright.dk Launched the site, so I'm gonna be a regular in this tread from now on Nearly 100 rare titles at launch, with a lot more to come. The below is an overview of the contents of the site: Systems 207 Accessories 376 Games 18'343 Covers 6'089 Screens 2'222 www.uk.playright.dk
Very, very cool site Mika-L. One thing though: This is not entirely true. The Super Black Model Dreamcast was originally one of these "you can buy one of you win the drawing" DCs. Basically, it was a raffle, but you won the right to buy the model. The initial run was a very limited number (200 I believe). I guess they had so many people enter, they had a questionairre, asking if people would buy them if they made another run. They said they'd produce more if they got enough pre-paid orders. The did, and they did. There were several thousand more made. The Pearl series are also not limited to 200 each. I do not recall the number, but it's definitely not 200.
Updated loads of stuff today in the Miscellaneous Section under gachagacha. Added new pictures of the character models because the old ones were blury plus a new section on miniature hardware. Yakumo
Another update, updated the Odyssey 1, 2, and 3 pages, added the Master system III compact (tec toy) and Splicevision (Brazilian colecovision clone.) Enjoy! http://hawanja.com
Hawanja, I understand a clone as a hardware not licensed by the original hardware maker. All TecToy consoles are called clones on your site, but they are licensed SEGA consoles. TecToy is like a SEGA of Brazil (it was called like this years ago on SOA's web site). PD
Yeah, they are "licensed clones." I put them in the "Other clones" catagory becasue I think it would be redundant to put them right under the console's main entry. I try not to put the original forgien release of a console up unless it's somehow different from the domestic (domestic in this case being the USA version. I know that the world doesn't revolve around my country, but it's where I live so...) Maybe after I've got all the pages up and updated (which will be some time next year by this rate) I'll organize them into official and unofficial clones.
Mika-L, really enjoyed your site. I might have to ask you for permission to use some of those images. Very nice.
Added 4 games to the Saturn section Quite a few SFC flyers to that section And pics of the very cool De La Jet Set Radio LE - a veryrare Dreamcast Direct only item. I mentioned this in "your most unbelievable deals" thread, but nobody made no mention of this stellar find. Maybe some pictures will change some minds.
