I put downloaded stuff and pictures I recently took right on the desktop. Too lazy to organize my pc, besides it's not like anyone sees it.
BBlean Blackbox on the laptop and desktop, usually I use themepatcher with konfabulator and stuff but I just formatted, haven't added any of blackboxes stuff yet.
you know i wonder how excited people were when they first allowed people to customized their desktop?
I was pretty thrilled when I found the buttons that edited the theme of the pc...the rest is history!
It's a pity mandrake (now mandriva) not being as stable as other linux distros, though is quite fast.
yeah, i'm going to switch soon, i think. Like Suse or something like that. By the way (Semi-off-topic, i know (well, all my post is off-topic anyway! )) Do you know how to install Windows decorations and Icon sets from RPMs to make them apear in the configure your desktop section? i can install them with the RPM, but they're not automaticly showing in the configuration section. I think i have to go and search it all over my hd, and place it in a folder, but i don't know where it is, nor it's destination. I would repost pictures of my desktop after the change.
My favorite Linux distros are Ubuntu and Gentoo.....so therefore if anyone uses Linux I think there worth checking out...
yay! someone else that loves gentoo like it to.. unfortantly because I'm a programmer I almoast always have to sit by this stupid windows system (-_-) I only hope that I one day can sit and dev on a linux system instead
I was SO close to switching to suse permanently before I learned that my Linksys card wouldn't work. I will have to do something complicated like using wine to run the app
EDITED here's my new desktop: and.....tadam! Smooth scrolling and all. The only problem with the dock right now is that it apears on top of everything. trying to solve the problem. i'd like to put other things on my desktop, like a built-in console, internet bandwith, cpu memory and hdd sensors and all, but i fear my system will loose lots of resource with all this, so i'm testing right now, i'm also trying to change the clock color to white too. edit: changed the second picture with new icons and layout. From left to right: KDE , Console, Konqueror, FireFox, aMSN, Limewire, Noatun, Kafeine, Kcalc, XKill, and the two last icons are for management. EDIT: here's my new toy This is called Kuake. It's A program that make the console apear like the Quake Console on KDE when you hit the good button asigned for this purpose, pretty cool. now i just need to know how to use that damn autostartup folder, to make everything you can see on my desktop automaticly apear when i start my computer.
I'm using dual displays, so this is a big one, Clickable though, so imageshack'll scale it down when you click it. EDIT: Its a pic of Mir BTW
