Hi, since a few of you live down under and seem to me to be avid ebay'ers, I'd figure I'd ask for your help. On monday I posted for Australia for the first time. I always post through registered mail (requiring signature on delivery) and also get a tracking number (http://www.ems.post/operators compliant). The package flew off yesterday and while I checked with the AusPost I got no info. Today I got the message that the product is not trackable but "However, for Registered Post International, a signature will be obtained when the item is delivered." which seems to be the case. My concern is: while not being able to follow the steps (scans) online, will I get informed at least that the item has been delivered (if nothing goes wrong)? Or I should not expect any update whatsoever? Will the AusPost inform me or facilitate delivery confirmation on request? I'm concerned that if it goes totally mute, I might get framed by a INR eBay/Paypal claim...
Australia Post's tracking is total balls. Ah, the joy of a government-run company. Basically, all they will tell you is when the item has been picked up and when it's been delivered. Which is information that the recipient well already be aware of, since the freakin' package is sitting right there!
Yep AusPost tracking just simply doesn't work that way. The EMS tracking will say when it has arrived though. So stick to the original tracking site. AusPost is shit.
Thank you all for your replies. But will AusPost display that info, that the packet has been delivered? It still just says it's not trackable but I guess it's a bit to soon too. The original tracking site is from my country post. It gets updated until is internationally dispatched but if the destination is outside europe and a few other contries, I won't usually have more feedback. That's why I follow it on the destination and it usually does the trick.
Well yes and no. Sometimes it does, other times it doesn't. The EMS site will say so anyway. Worst come to the worst, email Australia Post and they'll follow up the status. Usually EMS packages here will have a yellow stick with "scan events required" and the package will not be delivered unless signed for at the door. There has been times where I've had packages left on my driveway and they needed to be signed for. The driver will "sign" it, which they shouldn't be. They're pricks. If you need more help, I can help you.
