Source: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6144541.html I don't know what the rest of you may think of how their altering the games, but im just really glad that they havn't forgotten about the franchise. It was one of the better reasons to own a Dreamcast back when they came out, and now they look set to be one of the better ones for owning a PSP. Looks like my 1.5 firwares days are numbered...
Damn...damn damn...now I have to buy a PSP too and they slightly degraded the value of DC powerstone and now I must own this, Powerstone is too cool not to own.
I never really understood why Power Stone was so much fun. I mean it was ok but not what people made it out to be. I guess it's an acquired taste. It certainly wasn't that big in the arcades. Yakumo
I'm not sure what it is that makes it great Yakumo, I have heaps of fun playing it. It has a lot to do with the desire to aquire items and then randomly finding them, also the need to prevent your opponent getting the powerstones and crushing you is fun too.
It's like the frenetic Super Smash Bros.-type action without the wonky controls and on a 3D playing field. I must say, I liked Powerstone 2 more just for the amazing levels. The variety within one single stage was amazing - like how you could start out on an airship, fighting for umbrellas on the way down after the airship explodes, and then continuing the battle when everyone lands at the bottom. Amazing!
Power Stone = Button Masher Paradise Games that are easy to play will always do better than games that require a high level of skill. -hl718
Well, a second hand Dreamcast, Power stone and Power stone 2 for that console is a lot of cheaper than a psp and this compilation. Besides, it looks better in a big tv screen I think these games are too recent to get good sales and make psp more interesting.
I'd say there's a slight difference there, Powerstone 1 was a lot more mashable, where as 2 used more of a rock, paper, sissicor kind of playstyle. Plus it's also about fighting for control of the level and it's items.
It seems that all the games I care about on PSP are nearly all ports. Stuff like Valkery Profile, Suikoden I & II, Gradius Collection, PowerStone Collection,... are nice, but I have most of those games.
In the west, I agree. . VF4 by far had the highest learning curve of any of the fighters last gen, and by far did the best in the arcades. On Topic: Yet another re-release for the PSP?
I don't think we should complain much about remakes, espcially for the lesser known games like Powerstone, mentioning it to the causal gamer often generates blank stares, it'd be nice for a potential cahnce at a 3rd Powerstone if this one does well. On Powerstone, it also seems more like a Powerstone 2.5 according to that website with some new characters etc.
Par for the course. I'm starting to wonder if there will ever be a game I want for PSP. The Katamari game looked interesting, but I heard the controls sucked.
Their about as close to the PS2 games controls as is possible. The D-pad works as the left analog, and the face buttons work as the right analog.
I am glad they are throwing both together on a single umd insted of releasing both of them seperatly. I am a little disapointed in the puzzle pack they are releasing. If its going to have puzzle fighter it should also include pocket fighter (i know, its more a fighter then puzzle but it's the sister game to puzzle fighter).
