So, I've got 3 busted classic power supplies (2 NES, 1 Master System), and I wanted to know is there any relatively easy way to fix them, or should they be tossed?

Busted how? Broken leads (more than likely) or internal (transformer etc)?

Usually the cable is broken right after the plastic casing. I've cracked several open only to find the transformer working just fine.

Even if they are busted (had a few with failed internals) the empty case makes for a good cup for temporarily storing screws from a console.

I've been contemplating putting a high efficiency switching supply inside of the cases anyway. Would fit inside nicely and still be easily identified and used with the proper console.

Switching PSUs have some pros and cons.
Pros: (quite obvious) - less weight and heat.
    Cons:
A bit more "dirty" output signal.
If it fails there's a chance that you'll get AC voltage running trough your system (my poor Turbo Duo RX - sparks, smoke and i got a nice and clean replacement case for another RX, because everything else was fried, there was nothing to repair).

So if you want to use switching PSU, find a good one.

True, which is why I don't bother with cheapy Chinese made switching power supplies.
