Hi everyone! I am currently working on a project with a HDMI modded NES. However the NES board does not have the RF module, where you normally would input power. From the install tutorials I have seen, you need to remove the 7805 regulator, because the Hi def NES board regulates power itself. How should I build a power input the regulates correctly, and where does the powerline need to go. I am using a 9v power supply. Thank you in advance
If you are using a 9VDC power supply you can feed that directly into the HiDefNES board, and use a panel mount DC jack in one of the original holes out the back. The HiDefNES will step down the power and feed it via the interposers into the console. The only thing the rf board does for power is turning the 9VAC to 9VDC with a bridge rectifyer, and smooth out the DC with a great big Capacitor before it runs into the linear regulator(7805) to hit 5VDC for the console.
Perfect! For this project, I plan to wire the power supply inside the console itself. So I can just cut the plug off, and then solder the ends on the Hi-def NES board right?
