WHOA! I think its safe to say goodbye to Halo. Seriously. Everything I wanted in Timesplitters Future Perfect's and more. Doesnt mean I still won't play it, though. I have been waiting for something like this to come out.
I don't know...I wasn't that impressed until I saw the map editor. Still, for all we know the gameplay could suck it big, so I'm gonna wait and see.
I saw another movie, and it looks like it plays like Doom 3, outdoor maps and vehicles like Halo, and a mapmaker like Timesplitters Future Perfect, except you can make them outdoors. I don't think gameplay will bother me that much since I get well accustomed to each different FPS and all their little quirks really easily. I do sometimes find myself trying to jump in Timesplitters 3 from time to time, though!
Buy a freaking PC you guys. WYSIWYG level editing has been around since Far Cry. I do have to hand it to them for them being the "first" to create something like this for the XBOX due to its limited RAM, or I should say the first ones to rush it out on a console system. Other than that buy a copy of Unreal Tournament 2k4 if you want to create your own levels.
^Points Up^ Worldcraft pwns Unreal Ed Uhh....I mean VHE now, not Worldcraft. Pariah looks just as Mr. Casual said.....lame Doom 3 gameplay but outside and with the notso impresive Halo veichle code. I'm an adamant FPS fan, but this just seems like another generic FPS the masses will eat up (Like Halo! Yeah, I hate that game alot >_<)
Eh, but my PC probably would have trouble with that sort of stuff. I do like the feature of making, sharing, and playing our own levels on Xbox live, though. I suppose you can do that sort of thing on a computer, but it would probably be harder to do. I might get a good video card for imy PC, if I feel like playing FPSs without my Xbox controller, and making supreme maps. EDIT: I have never played Unreal tournament. I think I'm going to get the console versions, only, though.
There have been a few reviews already. They say the editor is great, but the gameplay is lacking and makes it feel stale after a short period.
well in all fairness, the xbox does have like 117326261 fps out right now.... It seems like the developers are scared to make just a solid fps and instead try to get all gimmicky and shit. all it would take is for a damn FPS to have an awesome campaign mode to sell millions. Instead Timesplitters and Pariah apparantly spent the bulk of their time on multiplayer...which isn't too horrible if you can get people away from halo I guess.
Mouse+keyboard beats controller any day, certainly in response time... Anyway this game looks just like every other fps shooter from the last few years, I'm certainly not wetting myself over it.
MIght join in there... Also halo 2 is damn fine online!!! Come and join me people... halo 2 needs you!
