well, since castle crashers comes within couple of hours, I thought I'd share with you game that brings immediate relation to castle crashers(even looks like creators took inspiration off of it in every way) I get from seeing movies on the internet: game is called - Moonstone, it was released on Amiga in 1991, very gory. I'm not saying it's a ripoff, just a general vibe, and it hasn't been mentioned anywhere that cc brings striking resemblance to Moonstone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_5CZ6TqCgps anyone played it or have general thoughts? one of my favorite Amiga games and all time favorites. and anyone picking up castle crashers? it looks to be an awesome beat'em up! about time ^^ link to castle crashers video(there is no review yet): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNw7qUO8ITk I hope you guys are just as excited as I am :icon_bigg
Castle Crashers is amazing! I've played it a few times actually, I can't wait for the release. the gameplay is addictive, fun, and requires a lot of cooperation.
just bought it, - A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!! I bought all of the 360 arcade titles over the summer and - CC IS THE BEST XBLA TITLE EVER! awesome adventure(I'm in 4th level, tall grass forest), rpg elements, awesome graphics, moody with suiting music, - game is a total blast! get it NOW! totally worth the 3 year waiting period
Castle Crashers is... wow. So damn good. Like, Guardian Heroes good. h: I really wish I didn't have class today... I want to play Castle Crashers. Ugh! And I have work. Sadness. OH:
I'll have to get it sometime, and BC. I just haven't been playing 360. I wanna play Saturn...or at least get some decent games for it.
lol, I haven't bought ANY of those little arcade mini games for the 360. Which ones are good? I might get CC.
that was an amazing summer for xbox 360, pretty much all 5 must have titles came out, but if you could only get one castle crashers is the one.
Moonstone is so radicially different to Castle Crashers in a lot of ways other then the general theme (Though it does have RPG elements). I'd say it'd be possible they'd drawn something from it. I guess since the knights actually do share the same colour (They went with Orange rather then a Yellow knight) could mean it's inspired them...less violence though. *edited for fact check*
To me Moonstone, is a far better game than that game. Since Castle Crashers looks to me like a Golden Axe like game compared to a Moonstone like kind of game.
let's see: 4 knights to choose (practically representing the same colors as in moonstone) - check game set in middle ages mixed with dose of fantasy - check violent (not as much though) - check adventure game with rpg elements - check I love Moonstone, if it weren't fetching hundreds of dollars, I would buy it this instant to play it on my A1200. if you like everything above and have 360 - Castle Crashers is for you, at $15 only fool will skip it ;-)
You know what Castle Crashers reminds me of? River City Ransom on NES. It's a brawler where you free roam, level up, get cash, buy items, etc. Very similar in my opinion.
I downloaded it but...eh....RPG....heh. The Arcade games are really good when you don't want to get into the rather long and involved regular titles. Sometimes it's nice to play a 20-minute round of mini-golf, or E4, or play a few levels of Heavy Weapon.
The trial of CC didn't really do much for me, but then sidescrolling brawlers (outside of a few nostalgia quirks) don't tend to. N+ and Braid are both pretty amazing, though.
