Not to be confused with "Games you wish got a physical release" I don't know if this is the case with the XBONE or WII U. But I'm seeing a ton of previously digital only games getting physical disc releases on PS4. Stuff like Teslagrad, Kromaia, Zombie Vikings, Giana Sisters. It's an interesting trend, maybe we can compile some sort of master list of these games. Of course Mega Man Legacy Collection and Shovel Knight are examples of this as well and they extend beyond the PS4 as Wii U and XBONE have them as well, even the 3DS. So, lets figure this out, and let me know if this is also the case on XBONE if there's anything digital only on that that is suddenly popping up on disc.
Looking through Gamestop's list of available games, I see The Walking Dead (which got physical releases on everything eventually), Minecraft (ditto), Killer Instinct, Game of Thrones, Wolfenstein the Old Blood, Resident Evil, The Wolf Among Us, Angry Birds Star Wars, Terraria, and Life is Strange. A lot of games that were also physically released for PS4, and most were on Wii U too. I think the only exclusive physical disc is KI.
Zombie Army Trilogy was digital only in USA on release day. I think it came out in March 2015, and was released to stores on disc end of July 2015. Company was Rebellion and they have a blog about self publishing their own titles like ZAT. Which could be why games release digital only and later they press discs. So now I understand why I couldn't find the game. Gamestop had nothing in their system and thought I was crazy that this game even existed on release day. http://www.rebellion.co.uk/blog/tag/mcv
I saw a 2 pack of Resident Evil and RE0 HD Remasters for XBONE the other day at Target. I feel like if it sells well enough digitally, give it a physical release. While it could cost a bit, the games that have sold well have already recouped that overhead. You never know how many more people you can get to purchase with a physical release.
Wipeout HD Fury, Strider (PS3), Brothers: A tale of two sons, This War of Mine: The Little Ones , inFamous First Light , Wolfenstein The Old Blood ,...
Dungeons and Dragons and Vampire resurrection also got disc releases in Japan toss that on to the list.
The Last Tinker; City of Colors I think the pricing on these titles is reasonable ... Most being under $20. Hope to see more releases.
All I see are PS3 copies, and that's the system I got the digital version on. Maybe one day I'll pay $30 for a game I already own on the same console, but not today.
Yeah these games only got disc releases on PS3. One of the reasons I got one a few years ago, and yet, I still haven't gotten those discs.
Vampire Ressurection on 360 also got a disc release in Japan. Other disc releases of Digital titles that come to mind are Capcom Digital Collection (360) and Qubed (360). 360 has quite a few actually.
And there's a few Arcade collections for the 360. And Ducktales Remastered, I think it came out on the PS3, 360 and Wii U.
There's going to be a retail release of Rocket League. 360 also had a collection of Beyond Good & Evil HD and some other game.
