Well im finally looking to sell my haul of games consoles and Amigas. The idea was for a shop but have been given the chance to become a slum landlord if I can raise the cash. As it stands there is approx 60 cubic feet full of games and consoles. (A small shipping container full)
What is the best way about going about this? Ideally would want it all gone in one swoop even if it means going at a lower price (I need to raise 20,000 pounds in total). There pritty much is everything needed for a shop even a till and pricing gun!

that heavily depends on the stuff which is in that approx 60 cubic feet shipping container.

may you post some of the more rare stuff which is in this haul included? what kind of game systems and from which country (JPN, US, EURO)?

Yeah, agreed. You would have to be very lucky to find a buyer really fast for such a haul. I don't know how immediate you have to get rid off your collection, but maybe a separate sale (=several big bundles, maybe divided into consoles / generations) would be a good idea.

You will definitely have a hard time finding a buyer as one large unit. Not to mention you'll most likely get a lot less. Selling it in bundles as previous members mentioned would be the best way to go about it. It's really hard to judge value though without knowing what's included. For all we know you have 60 cubic feet of Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt cartridges. =P

If you are looking to sell the whole bundle in one go your going to have to be prepared to take ALOT less than you expect for it. Selling it as it is really narrows your market down to resellers who have to make there mark up too! I think you'd REALLY struggle to find a collector with that kind of cash to burn.

1st take out all the rare stuff and put it up on the bay etc. separately.
as for the rest make good bundles until only junk is left. either trash it or sell it really cheap as a big bunch of junk.

    ^ What he said.

Bundle prices, as you probably know, go down almost exponentially with the ammount of stuff that's in it. You're losing money relative to the ammount of crap that someone that buys the lot has to acquire even though they don't want it, along with the effort they have to put in to get rid of what they don't need.

If you want to get rid of the stuff quickly, then setting up an online store wouldn't be the best option as you had to redirect people there, etc. I would suggest, as others said, the following:

    - Separate the most rare/expensive stuff and sell it separately on eBay and/or forums.

    - Sell boxed consoles separately

    - Make nice bundles with the rest, like: console + controllers + accessories + games + "FREE" junk (that, may attract some people)

    - Sell the rest of the junk in small lots or in one huge lot, very cheap. And if you can't get to sell the junk... make some kind of satanic ritual by sacrificing a Gameboy to the spirit of Gunpei Yokoi and burning the rest of the junk in some huge bonfire!

Well today I started a "stock take". Up to box 9 of over 50. Now not sure if its 60 cubic feet or 120. What ever it is its not big enough as I have to clear out a loft full of stuff too.

Why did you collect in such a fashion? It seems counterintuitive.

I had a rather good sucess at buying up bankrupt shop and stripping out lock stock. Racking CCTV the lot. Stuff was sold off or weight in at the scrapyard. I moved away as I got golden ticket job in the mean time also bought out two shops. Its only now im able to sort it out. The plan was/is to have my own shop but I have a chance get a property and rent it to tentants waiting. The haul was never intended to to be mixed with my collection but it has and will all be sold.

Yet to find where the Panny Cubes are. The only pic is of boring boxes at the moment. Im up to box 27. I got a little side tracked as I found a box full of mint Nes games and C64 tapes.

Best bet would be to hire someone(maybe a friend) with knowledge to make individual sales of the more valuable stuff, if you don't have the time for it yourself.
