Hi all, I think back to the grand days of the live arcade scene and remember one our my brother and I'd absolute fav's: Primal Rage. Sure it's broken and an MK clone, but I like it. I've always been interested in the cancelled sequel but finding info is like pulling teeth. According to wiki, a test machine was distributed to limited cities, but was it a complete game? I know an HD image is running around but does any emulator run it decently? Was Necrosan, cut boss of the first Primal Rage, added back into the mix? Any info at all would be awesome! Thanks! J=-
ahhhh good old Primal Rage 2. I have the HD image and the rom dumps for for PR2, however, AFAIK, there are no emu's that run it yet. the newest mame will only make it to the character select screen.
As far as I know, no one has worked on emulating pr2 in ages. I cant remember if it was protection or what that was stopping then but I think they had some reason.
The posters above are correct, Mame even has a message "this game won't work, don't bother making it work" when you attempt to load it.
YOu need the 3 chips to get it to work. Bio Freaks has some similar stuff. That game is usually available for play at the California Extreme
Apparently Necrosan was the final boss, along with a saber-toothed tiger character named "Slashfang." There were action figures of both also.
