I had the opportunity today to buy the first 5 of the PES series on teh PS2 for under £5 the lot and i walked away as i wasnt sure if i was just buying games for the sake of it rather then the quality etc..

Was i wrong, should i have done so and should i go back to buy the, now? lol (well nt right now as its late, but you know what i mean! :110: )

Does anyone here collect the PES series, or is it just wrong? lol

To be honest, pro evo is the home of the drunken student (me). They are great fun, and by far the best football games around. give them a bash!

I hate pro evo, although I m/been a student for long, and adhere to intoxication by alcohol or other means when time and duty allows.

Nintendo (classic) games are just so much more fun to play when your mind is out of this world =)

As current football titles go I think Pro Evo is miles ahead of the competition ... for some reason FIFA always seemed over complicated for me!

5 is nothing you might as well pick it up for that price and maybe sell it a couple of years from now or just keep it for your own collection.
from what I know (all my friends are big pes addicts) they only have eyes for the latest one and never look back so I guess it falls under normal ps2 game collectors more then pes addicts.

go back and discover the PSOne versions, ISS Pro evolution & ISS Pro 98 etc, there are mild but interesting differences between region versions also such as shooting technique, curling the ball etc. I didnt like any of the PS2 ones, was really too floaty for me......tho now the PS3 version is out and its been slated as the worst in years, the fixed shooting makes me feel its the best since PSOne era.

Back in the Snes days, I was an ace at International SuperStar Soccer Deluxe (that's, I think, the second Winning Eleven title). I had it boxed until I sold it a couple of years ago. I have loved most of Konami's soccer games ever since, though some of the PSX ones felt quite clunky (2000, mainly). I am seriously considering purchasing the X360 version, having played the demo - but somehow, ISSS/Pro Evo/W.E. feels like a "sony" kind of game to me.
Five pounds for the first five games was a great opportunity, but let's not regret it - get one of the newer ones instead.
Hell, if you have a 360, let's get the 360 version and I'll play any of you guys online. I suck, but I love a good match of console soccer with friends.

International Superstar Soccer Deluxe is amazing on the Ps1. It's a SNES conversion with added stuff here and there. The dog ref cheat! Classic stuff!

the ISS series and the Pro Evo series aren't related actually. They were designed and developed by entirely different teams, despite the publisher being konami, and have even co-exister early-on.
