Does anyone have any more info about this title? Such as a UPC? I cannot find any info about it for love nor money! Had this title pop on my doorstep the other day, but it seems to be non-exsistant due to it being mainly a PS2 title and only being released in Europe (PS1 Version). Oh, and this is an English PAL game.

    The german UPC is: 4012927010907

There were several (at least two) versions of Pro-Evolution soccer for the PSX, actually.

If I recall correctly, after the two "International Superstar Soccer" games on the SNES, then there was an exact (but 3D) port of ISSS for the N64, called, fittingly ISSS64.

The next year, there was International Superstar Soccer 98 for the 64 AND for the PlayStation. It had "Pibe Valderrama" (famous player from Colombia) as its cover image.

After ISSS98, the pro-evolution games started coming out for the PSX, probably 99, 2000, and 2001.

I had one of those, but it was a pirate copy - but I'm sure that it was released in the NTSC region, and that there were several versions.

From what I remember, there's a 2000, and 2001 version of Pro Evolution for the PSX. There was probably an earlier Pro Evo, but it was definitely after ISSS98, which was both for the PSX and N64. Or maybe 2001, 2002?

Also, there's a lot of hacks of Pro Evolution Soccer on PSX in the black markets here, with Latin American teams instead of the original roster.

There was a port of the International Superstar Soccer Deluxe from the SNES as well.

Hey there it got slightly confusing towards the last Pro Evo (or PES) releases on the Playstation. I can only speak for the games released in the UK but basically it goes like this.

ISS Pro (in my opinion the real genesis of the Pro Evo series although not in name and not as in-depth its still deserves to be mentioned next to the others)

    Pro Evoloution
    Pro Evolution 2

Pro Evolution Soccer (also on PS2)
Pro Evolution Soccer 2 (also on PS2)

Basically with Pro Evolution Soccer on the PS1 its like what currently happens with PS2 version of PES 2011 and the PS3 version of PES 2011 same title and very similar games just for different systems. (the difference does get more marked though as time passes/next gen power etc)

I love Pro Evo right up to the current versions and have been playing them since the original ISS on the SNES.

    Pro Evolution 3

    Pro Evolution 4

    Pro Evolution 5

    PES Pro Evolution 6

They then changed to yearly named updates but the number of stars on the box corresponds to the Pro Evo Number

    PES 2008

    PES 2009

    PES 2010

    PES 2011

I probably made some mistakes but hey there is quite a few of them

What you are saying is, indeed, correct.

The year numerals came after the series made the jump to PS2.

On the PSX, it was not year-numbered.

That being said, Winning Eleven was always superior to FIFA.

But Pro Evo 2011 on the Wii is a disgrace.

They juggled names around for quite a while in the west. Some were named like Japan for US, then switched to be inline with Europe. Dunno much. Local stores way out here don't carry many soccer games.

Here it's the opposite, or it was, back in the day. Local games stores stopped carrying RPGs and many cool games, but they had like eleven million different soccer games - being that I live in Latin America.

Soccer is everything to a lot of people here.

Even I dabbled in soccer games in the 90s. I was a golden god in ISSS Deluxe on the Super Nintendo. Hell, I even owned Mega Man Soccer, and played it in every possible way. I even bought a couple FIFA games (though I used to find FIFA slow as fuck) and Pro Evo and what not, on the PSX.

But when the newer Winning Eleven games started fucking around with the controls, I just lost interest. I get the demos on XBLA and stuff, but I just can't be arsed to get the whole game when there's so much backlog with actual stories to get back to.

Also, soccer was much better in the 90s in my country. Being that soccer is very boring nowadays, I sort of don't have an interest in it - and that leads me to not buy the games.

I guess somewhat proximity to Canada will do that. Only those stations show hockey coverage out here either.
