Did you add the adapter's MAC address in the ARP field or run the command separately and assign an IP to the Dreamcast?

From the command line, it would be:

(Replace the desired IP and the MAC address in the appropriate fields)

I use now with a patch cable via my computers intenel bba httpd-ack
and just type a ip address and bam your rip will work.
Took me ages to work out as for the bbrip i find i only works on win98se.
Your computer your rippping it from must be wired amnd the dreamcast aswell should work then.

First you should check if you can ping the dreamcast.
( in the command prompt, execute somethin like "ping (ip address of your dreamcast, the one that is shown on the TV screen connected to your DC, or the one you assigned via the command prompt.)" eg: ping 192.168.0.4)
Check if there is a response from the ping.
if not, the problem is between your Dreamcast & your network.
if you do receive a response from the ping, the problem will more likely be at bbrip side.

How many network cards do you have in your PC? Try installing a packet logging utility like Wireshark and try to connect to the internet with a BBA compatible browser or game and see if the PC is seeing the data.

If you just have one network card, you'll need to configure your DC with a static IP first using Planet Web 3.0 or Broadband Passport.

You may also have to assign your PC a static address if it normally gets one from DHCP, but is started when still connected to the Dreamcast (in which case, you could get an address, then reconnect to the Dreamcast).

You can also check the IP address of your PC.
    To give a simple example:
if your Dreamcast IP address is 192.168.0.4, your PC's IP address should be something similar, eg 192.168.0.3

Make sure the net mask is 255.255.0.0 on both the PC and DC if the subnet IP for both is different. (like 192.168.0.x and 192.168.1.x for example)
