Hi Friends! I´m Cirino from Brazil, i´m reselling Everdrive models here. We sold Mega Everdrive for a client but he can´t use the product, he send mail to us telling us that the card was formatted, the folder "MEGA" was created and inside it he copied the file "MEGAOS.BIN" from the krikzz website but what he got on screen is message "OS init error" File not exist:100" This client have 4 different models of MEga Drive.. 1 from Tectoy (manufactured in Brazil), another american Genesis, another Japaneses and another Tectoy with 78 games inside, he is testing in all of them. Someone can help me? Because I need to help this client. Thank you, Cirino Goulart Playtronics/Brazil
1)format sd card 2)create MEGA folder and put MEGAOS.BIN in this folder 3)turn on cart the sytem with cart, OS should init all data inside of "MEGA" folder 4)copy all roms to SD card and leave some free space for OS better to use windows machine and 32kb cluster size for formatting and rom copy possible reasons of problem: 1) non windows machine was used for card setup, or some file manager, like total commander. i heard that sometimes everdrive wont work with card which was formatted under linux or mac os 2) sd card is full, so OS can write own system data on SD 3) very small cluster size was choicen whilw formatting (1-2kb). but this reason is pretty unlikely 4) errors in fat system -------------------- or just try another sd card
Hi Krikzz!! Thank you for your support. Now problem was solved, client formatted in FAT and added files again and works perfect. Now have another problem, about Master System roms, according with him, they don´t work.. have some special method to run them? Thank you, Cirino Goulart Playtronics/Brazil
Krikzz, thank you for your support but is not the problem.. he tried in all mega drive consoles that he have and don't work with anyone, 32x not attached when trying to use master system roms. Some another tip? thank you,
I've noticed something about playing Master System ROMs on the Mega ED: if the extension is .sms, then they're seen as Master System games and the console will go into SMS mode; if the extension is .bin, they're seen as Genesis/Mega Drive games and won't work without going into the options and manually setting the mapper to SMS. I've also seen that a number of .sms ROMs won't play on my model 1 Genesis, but the .bin versions usually will after manually changing the mapper. Just an observation, I don't know if that will help.
