So I flashed the last version of the Ind-BIOS to my box in preparation for a 128MB RAM upgrade. I used the tool included in the download to edit and save a config file for the boot animation to the BIOS itself. I was able to flash the BIOS with no problems. Everything went fine for about 2 hours. I then noticed it seemed like my HDD was acting up. When I would use FTP for some other stuff I could see the folders but couldn't access them because of a "failed directory listing". Tried several things. Even reinstalled my dashboard with the AID system. Still same thing. Could see the folders but not touch them. So I went to bed. A few minutes ago I decided to try finding out what is wrong. Now I can't even get to the dashboard when I was able to last night. nothing has changed. I just get the infamous error 14. It won't even boot to my AID disk. I even tried booting a game that has the last MS dashboard for Xbox Live (Conker) and still get error 14. I know my HDD has the dashboard on it still because I haven't done anything to it since the error started.

Is it the BIOS? It is the proper 256K for my TSOP chip and I used version 5003.06 in preparation of a 750GB HDD I have on order and to have F take all the space.

Maybe something got corrupted in it. I can't seem to gain access to anything on both drives at all. Can't load dash and won't boot a disk. Do I need an EEPROM reader/ burner to fix it?

OK. So my issue was the hard drive. Seems that it decided to puke everything on it for some strange reason. I successfully installed an Xecuter 2.6CE, flashed bank 1 with the Xecuter X2 5035 BIOS using the FlashBios 3.03 that came on the chip, and was able to boot the AID disk to rebuild my drive. I know it was the HDD because booting to the drive from the Xecuter BIOS gave me some strange error I couldn't read because of screen distortion. I did see something about the "Xboxdash.xbe" missing. Once the drive was built the Xecuter BIOS booted to my dash just fine. So after the drive was rebuilt I decided to see if my TSOP IND-BIOS was fine. It did boot now that I have a working HDD again. Now that I know it is fine it's time to reflash my TSOP with my new configuration IND-BIOS that I set up with all the features I want and edited the appearance to make it look closer to the stock BIOS.

Strange my 40GB drive decided to suddenly dump all its contents. I would have my 750GB drive in it now but the SATA to IDE adapter I purchased seems to be DOA. Shame. This is supposed to be one of the few confirmed to be working on the Xbox. Oh well. Time to return and either get refund or get a tested working one. I may just get refunded and get one from elsewhere. Stuff from China seems to have a 50% fail rate for me...
