i have one too, with a different deck and paad number. dont know where its from. has a low serial number though.
A friend of mine had one before and posted on Nintendo Age asking about it. He was told that the console was used by third party developers who needed to test products. Sounds about right to me. Pretty cool bit of history if anything. Thanks for the reply!
that's not right. it was only a theory that it might have been used for testing the third party region converter called "ultra 64". i personally do not believe that they would individually label up to 100 consoles and put the same number on the side of the console just to test a third party converter. something that would suggest that it is more official is that my n64 deck that looks exactly the same but with a different number is that there is a sticker on the expansion pack slot that says "WARNING: Tampering with this label will result in legal consequences/actions". the last word is not a part of the worn out label anymore so its just a guess.
Probably an early demo unit. Nintendo seem to always use their project names for their systems. If it was a really early prototype or test unit, it wouldn't have a Nintendo 64 label.
Yeah that N64 has regular logo, That's one of the Nintendo 64 consoles what were used in Shoshinkai Show 1995.
