I know a lot of people were both sceptical and supportive of this whole Dreamcast 2 / Project Dream thing. Looks like it's shut down now: http://www.thedreamcastjunkyard.co.uk/2016/06/dreamcast-2-project-shuts-down.html
Guess I'll keep dreaming. I signed the original Change.org petition. In the end I expected nothing, but we'll see someday.
Such a sad fate, but did anyone genuinely expect a different outcome? Unless someone buys up SEGA and/or their IP related to Dreamcast, I don't see any hope of a successor.
I'm assured by a 'source' that talks with Sega did actually happen - as recently as last week. If that's true, then this is a shame.
I doubted this would ever be a thing, seems like from that post that the same thing happened to this project which happens to so many other projects: over ambhition and behavior problems.
So they just posted on the petition that it's not dead apparently? https://www.change.org/p/petitionin...U&utm_source=petition_update&utm_medium=email
i expected nothing from this, but am getting weirdly surprised for some reason. I wonder if they'll post what was said between them and sega
what do you expect when bunch of nerds started creating DC2 before asking Sega nor their permission...
if i had a dollar for every change.org petition i signed that didnt actually do anything at all, my children and my children's children would never have to work a day in their lives
I've been contacted by several members of the project, on opposing sides. Its a bit of a mess and I'm happy to just let it lie now to be honest.
