well , there are some xbox games that support 720p (soul calibure for example )and some that support 1080i (dragons lair) . GT4 (ps2) supports 1080i aswell ^__^ but you should keep in mind that all upcomming xbox 2 games will support hdtv , if you belive microsoft well , if you want to be on the save site go with a hdtv projector. yeah , they are also called "beamer" here.
Thanks guys. Well im not sure what i will do. Buying a projector thats too expensive isnt a option plus if i were to up my budget too much i might as well pick up a plasma. Not looking to spend much more then £700ish. Theres quiet a few around that pric range so im unsure what to do. Currently looking at what hes the best specs. Thanks Paulo **edit** http://global.acer.com/products/projector/pd113.htm# Havent checked any reviwe yet but the specs look okish...?
well , forget about plasmas unless your willing to spend ~5000euro. the native resolution of most plasmas is way too low anyway, check out the Panasonic AE500 , its a good machine and you should easily fine one for that money.
Buying projectors that won't do real 1080i is kinda pointless.....you know all the next-gen consoles (cept maybe those wackjobs at Nintendo) will display in 1080i. Just because HDTV content sux doesn't mean you don't want a display device that can handle it, because both blu-ray DVDs and lots of games will support it.
Out of the dell and this panasonic now... The panasonic is £350 never used. (been boxed for 2 years or something!) http://www.projectorcentral.com/Panasonic_Home-PT-AE100.htm Or this dell for most likely around £400. http://www.projectorcentral.com/Dell-3300MP.htm The dell has better specs! However its 4:3. Then again i never liked widescreen.... ummm i dunno! lol
Haha goed, und wie geht's mit dir? Sind sie ein des Vielen die nach Holland kommen um weed zu rauchen? :smt042
That Panasonic is significantly worse than all the others you've listed - the brightness and contrast is less than half of the others for starters. The Dell, however looks damn good. I wonder who's the real manufacturer of it? But Dell's spec's say nothing about PAL-60, and I see nothing about support for RGB at TV scanrates, though again it may be possible. Oh, and I take it you're buying second-hand - the Dell's €1800 new! :smt1069 What systems/connections do you mainly plan on using it for?
I have a Dell projector. I also have a Dell LCD TV. Don't expect anything absolutely spanking incredible, but for the price, you'd be hard pressed to find better quality imagery and features. :smt045
Gonna use xbox on it with whatever gets best pics. The Pany is second hand but never used. The other is used for 49 hours at least and its got remote missing... neither a big deal but im at a loss... Now one of the sellers has seen ive offerd the other guy as well... £350 for the pany thats 16:9 and £400 for the dell... Now the brightness and everything im not sure on simply because i ahve a nice dark room and it wont be that far away.... gawd!
The xbox should be fine with component outputs, but can all xbox games output via these? Better brightness and contrast will still make a big difference even in a dark room - especially when the Dell's over TWICE as good as the Panasonic! These two things are still even today seriously lacking when it comes to LCD displays comapred to CRTs. Even a plasma TV can produce twice the contrast ratio of a typical LCD projector.
