Today I bought a copy of "European Super league" for the dreamcast, only really bought it because I need it for my PAL collection and I had to take back a copy of street fighter alpha 3 because it was scratched to hell and had a rather substantial amount of disc rot. The guy would only give me an exchange voucher. So £3 football game with a creepy absence of any kind of music or commentary, great replacement......... Anyway upon inspection, there appears to be a sticker on the front inlay. Everything else seems pretty standard except for this sticker which says "promotional copy not for resale" Is this anything special because I've not seen it before, ever.
some of the PAL games have this, it should also say promo on the disk somewhere (usually on the rom side near the center) I got 2 or 3 of those as well
Ah yes you're right, It's on the label side on the ring in the middle, hard to see because it's black writing on a dark green background, trust me not to notice. Do you have any idea what these were used for originally? They don't seem very common, or at least, nobody seems to notice that they have one Not really sure why this post is more suited to the "game dveleopment forum" than the rare and obscure video gaming one.....
a) Not that rare b) Sega Dreamcast forum (ignore the development bit ) I believe the first pressed of discs where usually silvers before printing, the promos where white labels but virgin may have been lazy and stickered things as I recall having Street Fighter Alpha 3 and Mr Driller just like that, though they did have promo on the inner ring and another sticker but on the rear cover barcode too.
Ok just wondering, didn't really know whether it was rare or not but I'd never seen it before. So the dreamcast development forum is just for discussing general dreamcast related stuff then? Also thanks, the virgin being lazy theory fits, as from mayzonemayu's pictures, he has a marvel vs capcom 2 like this
and Project Justice ; both are still factory sealed btw (which believe me; is hard to find in this from)
We had a similar thread about Dreamcast promotinal copys: www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26623 This could help you with a few questions.
