Promotional Vidoes/Trailers deserving of Mockery

I'm doing something different with the next Retrocade. Instead of playing games I'm going to do riffs and parodies of promotional material from the past and Present (The Wii U Nerd zombie video)

So I wanted some feedback on anything you feel should be completely mocked/riffed on.

So shoot

 

Do an angry commentary on the angry video game nerd.

 

I second this. AVGN is usually fairly entertaining, having an angry commentary on it... I can only imagine would not only be more entertaining, but perhaps open up whole conversations depending on your choice of angry rant commentary. A+ Idea.

So ridiculous and 90s. Although one of the musical stingers is from Bad Religion's 21st Century (Digital Boy), and that's awesome.

 

I could do something, I may have to edit the music out but yeah I could do something with that.

I think I know which AVGNs to mock too since I JUST watched Rocky and will go through Back to the future this weekend....

 

If you are going to riff AVGN, then I suggest riffing on a couple of Mike Matei's videos as well. Specifically, when James was away making the AVGN movie, Mike released two PAINFULLY unfunny videos. One where he mocked a Sesame Street movie by making forced sexual jokes, and another where he manages to be so unfunny, he ruins both Minecraft AND Inspector Gadget in one video.

I know they are not exactly promotional videos or trailers, but they're so unbelievably bad. I find it hilarious that Mike previously mocked the Irate Gamer for making terrible videos, yet the videos he made were 10 times worse than anything Bores ever made.

 

Sure why hell the not. Mike made a few nice videos though mostly game related though not the non game related ones. I'm tempted to do something with the Nostalgia critic too but he hasn't done anything really worth riffing on. He's going to be in my area soon though.....

Happy Console gamer is aware of my work and he likes it maybe I can work something out with him too.

The Reason I'm doing these mockerys is that the SD card I do the shows on broke so I'm limited to a 2 gig sd card and I'm not running out to get a new card just yet so I figured I'd try something new with the show and see if it takes off.

 

Retsupurae already did it, but you could riff Nostalgia Critic's "Let's Play" of Bart's Nightmare. All he does is stutter and scream at every little thing.

Maybe you could also make fun of terrible video game cover art, or has that been done too much already?

 

Quoted for truth. He should just stick to doing the movies. James is the man when it comes to game videos. Mike's game videos are like a hippo snorting up rhino vomit then shitting it out with an anal sprinkler attachment all over a heap of rotting turkey corpses. Hehe, the AVGN could actually use that one.

Personally, I like to pretend that Gadget is doing his best Mike Matei impersonation by intentionally being as unfunny as possible. He's openly mocking him because he's forced to be a part of Mike's "comedy".

EDIT: In case if anyone is confused as to why Inspector Gadget, of all people, is in the Minecraft video, It's because of an old commentary James and Mike made over a Super Mario Bros Super Show DVD. In the main menu of the DVD, Inspector Gadget gives extremely obvious advice with a goofy voice. It was actually pretty funny, or at least funnier than the crap above.

Here's what I got so far... I'll mock that Minecrap video possibly do James' Rocky Review (since I Just watch all the Rocky Movies) Henners can do whatever (we'll talk later) I asked Johnny Millennium for his blessing to do a riff on something of his. That MTV thing I'll try to edit down, I'm Mocking that Wii U video showing off the social networking thing, There's a saturn video and possibly several OLD E3 trailers. I'll end the episode bringing back an old segment I used earlier int he show where I give really bad sex advice to gamers.

the Opening of the episode is the Zombi U trailer with the audio replaced with the Anthem of the Royal Canadian Kilted Yaksman.

But keep the suggestions coming I really want to do something unlike past episodes.

By the way I'll take questions for the Advice segment too.

 

I think making fun of other Internet video game guys is not a good idea. Retsupurae has done it already, and you're not nearly as funny as those guys.

 

Watching Retsupurae's stuff now I'll see....... AND I don't find them THAT funny. OK...I don't find them funny at all.

 

Do you have any specific E3s planned? How old do they have to be? I remember the Konami 2010 conference and how extreeeeeeeeme it was. Looking up that video also led me to Activision's conference back in 2007.

I actually like Tak Fujii and Naoki Maeda (Asian Steven Tyler?) a lot for their enthusiasm despite English clearly not being their first language (or maybe they were just smoking some really good shit before they went on stage). Seriously though, I wish more developers would be that excited to talk about their games.

I need to rerecord the Wii U social trailer riffs, alot of the jokes were said over the Dialog I was mocking. Like,in the sample I say "Klubtar the Pussy destroyer" before he even picks up the Phone.
