I plan to install a Modbo 4.0 into my console in the next week or so, but I'm a little confused. When I compare two diagrams, One of them shows a pin needed for point H, while the other one does not. Here's the two: http://img150.imageshack.us/img150/2053/v7v8usaxa5.jpg http://www.xchip.cn/install/modbo4.0/v7-v8.jpg I also found another Modbo 4.0 diagram that showed the chip having a different pin order on the side opposite the logo.
As I understand it, pin H needs to be installed for NTSC consoles, but not for PAL. I think Australian PAL consoles are the exception, I've seen online store saying that you NEED to solder point H for Aussie PS2s. Also, one of those diagrams was for the 3.0, not the 4.0...
I found a few other diagrams that look almost identical to the first one I linked too, but some show the H point as a required point on NTSC boards. Oddly, If you take a look at the official diagram (http://web.archive.org/web/20070418230958/http://www.modbo.com/modbo4/img/V7V8-usa.jpg), it does not show an H point. On modsupplier.com, it has an explanation:

Please note that the Aus PAL consoles *need* the "H" point connected. This point is normaly only used on NTSC consoles, but our Aus PAL consoles require this point to function. As the PAL diagrams do not show "H" point, use the USA diagrams for v9 to v16 & the JAP diagrams on v5 & v7 for only the "H" point.

...so it's needed for the NTSC units, but really really needed for the Aus. units? I'm just going to connect the H point to be safe...
