Seeing those RetroGen/Advance Adapters have me thinking of one day doing an a/v mod that would use those 3.5mm to RCA cables. Will this Digikey part be sufficient? Or should I keep my Video and Audio Channels separate for composite mods? If I get that one jack, I imagine it would cut down on space considerably. I wouldn't worry about the cable, considering dollar stores sell them for camcorders.

The RCA connection is more durable, the contacts of the "mini headphone jack" sometimes can fail from repeat plugging in. Prefere switchboxes over swapping cables anyways.

As long as you get a quality connector I've never had issue using them. And I prefer them since it's easier to make a flush looking mod with it, as though it were there from the manufacturer.
