Hidden in the Sonic Adventure proto that was released some time ago was an incomplete Windy Valley that fans knew from old coverage. The models were there, enemy placement etc., but it was missing data for it to be it a functional level. Now it is playable once again.
Only minor thing I'm alittle sad about is that it isn't playable on Dreamcast. But still amazed and thankful this has been restored, props to all involved!
I was waiting for this. I remember reading through that entire thread to soak up all the info. There was a lot of other old level design in the AutoDemo as well. Such as the end of Speed Highway having the sunken in fountain. Also Emerald Coast didn't have the whale and the final portion was basically empty. I actually have all the videos saved on my computer of those users playing through the various stages if someone would like to see them. Should probably get permission from them first, though.
I'll work on it. They honestly might already be on YouTube. I would search sonic adventure auto demo.
http://tcrf.net/Proto:Sonic_Adventure_(Dreamcast)/AutoDemo Did you see the test stages? Attempting to play them one can see that they do not accommodate the game's mechanics. They were likely made for a build with different physics.
I have seen them. I believe a decent bit of the test stages were meant to have scripting. They just didn't come through? I could be wrong about that. Also in the one test stage the platforms were likely to have been turning.
