What is the point of selling it without a battery if you cant use it without it?

Most likely it uses same battery as retail Vita.

wtf are you doing trying to sell it for $3000?
If you bought it for nearly that much, I feel sorry for you

HI_Ricky not to bash your thread but i got a actual vita prototype the one with the flip screen and i didn't pay 3grand for it mean I paid 1200 so yeah man your price is pretty high as system has said.

Anyways your welcome to price your unit at any price you like and with that i wish you good luck on your sale.

Let me ask you this, are the first 3 or 4 letters on the back DEM, CEM, or PTEL? What are the last 3 digits? It's usually one letter, followed by two numbers

i never listed on the market and the person i bought it from never has aswell and I got that several months ago.

Also the dem is rarer then the cem but hey man good luck with sale also just cause there isn't anyone selling that unit you have doesn't mean its worth 3grand sure someone else would also tell you the same.

I can verify the DEM being rarer, it was much earlier on in the vitas lifespan. Though there are engineering samples that are much rarer than even DEM's most if not all of those have been destroyed. In terms of value of either imma stay out of it. Best of luck!

I do not brother you which rare than other rare .
DEM-3000 is send to close developer to test and dev app
CEM-3000 is prototype from retail hardware build send to hardware lab(FCC/CE.....etc ) test become final build , that why many app_host on there for mount SD card( from vita game card slot) test , not for close developer
    this is different way from.
    ;)

only label of model is no useful ,
DEM/CEM/CPV there is a lot different label inside PCB (code/number) eg, some WLan-X , DVT-? , JCOM-?
oh sorry I speak too much , time to close :)
