I just picked this up yesterday for a complete steal. It powers up fine, but I don't have a controller. However, I don't really know much about Xbox 360 development hardware. I believe this is a Stress Test console. However the wires sticking out of the top are missing. It is also missing the sidecar. If anyone can please help me identify exactly what this console is, that would be great. I would appreciate any information possible. Thanks

IDK about the old Xboxs like that but my prototype Slim has its "hole" for the cables perfectly cut, Its not jaggad like that plus there is also a hole in the metal shielding under it.

Oh and I can clearly see the serials on the first pic. ;D

It's a jasper motherboard due to the "JEVC". It's definitely a stress test kit because it has the label, markings and the hole for the lamprey cables.

Stress test kits were for quality assurance, hence the name.

Thanks for your reply. Does anyone know how rare these consoles are and what they may be worth? I don't really collect Xbox 360

Well since stress kits were developed to assure that it was able to handle what it was meant to, it isn't used to develop games nor debug them it isn't worth much to a game developer. I don't know how to price it, but if you really want to get rid of it I'd get it off you! Just PM me.

considering its a jasper its worth a good bit, it doesn't really seem to be in its stress kit cage as there's no hole, however that doesn't mean shit, since the stress sticker is on there, thats all we need in order to know what it is, id imagine this console can run full debug, however will not be able to accept a sidecar, likely due to its (most likely) missing power pin for the car, its pretty common stress kits have the ports for the test boards to plug into, however skip on any sidecar connectivity. You wont really know without opening it .. My review kit for some odd reason is able to debug memory, although everyone else who owns one claims they cannot. MS isn't very consistent in they way they make their kits..

It's a cool kit no matter what, you should try to track down an XDK final case and put that motherboard in it, get it all cleaned up and snazzy looking.

Thanks for your reply. I'm trying to find out as much info as possible. Apparently, someone on the forums says "Stress Test Kits have all the same features as a Development Kit itself, except for the fact that it's made primarily for testing the motherboard revision by MS. Typically they look like a retail premium console(white with chrome dvd bezel), except with Sidecar cables sticking out of a precut hole in the top. You can stick a Sidecar on it if you really want, and in essence, you've pretty much got a full blown Development Kit right there. From what I've seen, they typically have a sticker that says "PROTOTYPE" where it should say Xbox 360 XeDK, or Xbox 360 Console, and all the manufacture date crap".

I just can't find anything on the price. It's one of the rarest items I own and I usually collect PS2 and PS3.

Its very likely you're kit can have the internals of a full blown Development kit IE: SMC LED, Sidecar ports & 10W Pinout

However you have to imagine microsoft went through many internal testings to result with the final jasper consoles, there could be stress kit jaspers out there with titan boards for all we know ... stress kits always came in different types, for obvious testing purposes. For an example, a very large amount of them came with the stress wires on the top .. however yours does not. Meaning your kit could be for testing something very different then what the other stress kits were used for. it's very interesting....

I noticed that as well. However, there is a big hole cut where the wires are supposed to come out. I guess I will have to open it up. But why do you think the wires are missing but the hole is still there?

You should really start a thread in the price check forum for that, following the price check rules.

Scarce due to it being a Jasper, but not totally rare. I'd give a value on it, but as mentioned it needs to be done in the price check forum. Decent amount but not something outrageous.

I was just reading up on this abit, and I have a few from what I believe to be stress test kits also. they have wires hanging out and holes on the side covered with clear plastic. no sidecars and no hdds. I am having some issues though as when I plug them in I can hear the fans running on all of them but I get no audio or video. I took them into a locally owned game shop that held down the button when starting them or something and said they don't have any error codes. I saw somewhere that they may need a 213w power supply but not sure if that's only when they have sidecar attached or not. any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
