That's great! I'm a bit jealous, I have yet to find one of these.

It's the most common of prototype controllers.

I know, all the more sad that I haven't added one to my collection yet.

Haha, yes, but out in the sticks where there are no swap meets, goodwills or gamestops unless I take a ridiculously long drive. Not too worried, I'll get one at some point.

Does anybody know how much they are worth? I saw a youtube video where a guy said about $70. Is that right?

Yup, depends on the bidders. The first recent ebay one stayed around $100 until 2 bidders took it to $184 in the final seconds. The other seller immediately listed the second one for a $184 buy it now with best offer option. After a few days he ended that listing and relisted with only the buy it now and someone picked it up.

Wow. I totally forgot to check ebay. Thanks for the info. I didn't know they could go for that much. I guess it really depends on the buyer.

Of course, those are ebay prices. A few bidders on ebay also bid up an Alamo with no break away cable to over 400. All 3 of those prices are a bit steep imho. I also wanted to mention the second Dakota was in near mint condition and still had the protective plastic over the jewel.

I noticed the first dakota controller didn't have the protective plastic over the jewel. I'd let it go for the right price.

The last ones that I saw sell for a fair price sold for about $84 each. The ones that sold on eBay one was unused and the other I guess had a bidding war. $184 is a bit much for them personally, the right person must have been looking at that time or something.

I never said that. If I wanted eBay prices I'd sell it on ebay. I'm just curious and looking for more information. Obviously, the prices for prototype controllers are not set in stone. Depends on the buyer and the seller and what type of collector is willing to let it go for. I may just keep it

I sold one for $175 about a year ago. It had the breakaway cord, and was in good condition, but definitely not mint.

Nothing is accurate for pricing on eBay, nothing. If there's two people who really want it they'll have a bid war, simple.

Never use it as a guide, even as a rough guide, it will just cause massive inflation for no reason.

Dakota controllers shouldn't be any more than US$70-US$80. Anything with the word prototype on eBay goes crazy, so fuck eBay.

I agree with Hex on the prices for Dakotas. Around $70-80. In my Youtube video I made of the prototypes about a year ago (it might have been the one you watched actually) I said $70-$100 and I think that is still where they should be at. $100 being with the breakaway and in decent condition. The Ebay prices are way out there.
