Yes exactly. I always wondered why their discs would boot. They must have it for sure, or asked a developer to use their drive.
I doubt they would reply. I mean, I even asked the company who manufactured the Game Shark (Datel I think it was) on where they got the PS PIO port plug for their PCB's. No reply. Mainly because the PS is old and no company has anything to do with it anymore. I have even spoken to Jason Rubin and Andy Gavin many times. Andy sold all of his PS software and hardware development kit and has no manuals left or anything from Naughty Dog. After CTR, that was it. It is up to us guys to keep the PS alive. I like how your all collecting the hardware (DTL-xxxx etc). Good to know. Just take care of them. Store them correctly. Even Sony does not mention the PS anymore. Its all about the PSone. It is knowhere on their website even...
These have the inner ring (and wooble) of an original game and the rest of it is whatever the pirate want it to be. Anyway, the pirated disc is pressed too. It's IMPOSSIBLE to burn discs that would boot in an unmodified PS console. It's protection was developed by the same people who developed the CD-R format so they KNEW exactly how to prevent people from using an CD-R on their machine. But they didn't try it too hard on the hardware protection side lol. (I mean modchips)
