I was looking at the files and structure of the disc, when it has a Crash 1 DEMO, Tekken 2 DEMO, some Monster Truck DEMO and Wipeout DEMO on it. However, they do not boot as I think Sony just wanted to see what the developers were up to, decided to not share the games yet, or commented out the boot code to stop it from doing so... The DEMO is DEMO 1 PAL Australian / European Version. This is the EXACT one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQ5FEWJtwfk
Yes there is a few discs like that I have a ps2 demo disc that has a turtles games on it that was disabled until they re-enbled it in the next months demo disc. One was meant to contain the making video of a Ace Combat game but never appeared on any demo disc as far as i'm aware. Then there's the hidden concept demos like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEXz88tTvHw If that above disc has PS-EXE's you should be able to run them with epsxe or pcsx-r.
haha, of course I tried. They do not boot. Well, the monster truck one does but it just shows .TIM's (images) of the gameplay. There was Destruction Derby 2 which played a .STR (video) and there was also Tekken 2. However, it just said red text 'Namco Presents', and then it would crash... That YouTube video you showed me, I have that .EXE. It is in the PSY-Q examples. There were many more also... I am mainly interested in getting the Crash Bandicoot 1 DEMO running! Never seen the demo gameplay... It is also interesting how they had a Destruction Derby 2 video when the first one was not even released at the time!
They probably developed DD2 shortly after development had stopped for DD1, DD2 was probably being development whilst DD1 was going through it's rating pending stage before going gold.
Thats insane... Destruction Derby is my fravorite game for the PS... The second one SUCKED. I hate it. I dont even think it is by the same team at Reflections. Psygnosis / SCEx published it however...
