This might be the first time you see something like this but I know that someone out there has it! I am talking for the CEX to IDU Utility type 3 game card which converts a retail PS Vita device to a demo unit. <br> So, what might it be worth to collectors? Submit your prices with some pics below! Thank you!
Probably at this time & moment I'm assuming around $850-900 since its just to only to convert to Kiosk Firmware but if it were to be a dex debug type 1 or 2 (if there is one I hope) I'll cost more.
Any benefit for converting retail kit to kiosk/demo kit? Update:I see...It will be restarted every 5 minutes...
I don't think it's possible to convert a retail unit into a debug unit (with out hacking the device). All units I saw were created as such (with their own model number). As well they still required the same license keys that devkits required to run unsigned builds.
I have seen 3 retail vitas (rear back information checked, there is no "NOT FOR SALE" or anything different) that had this app! I am sure that this gamecard exists because I have some connections that confirm it. It is just impossible to find it! Also this shows only when Demo Mode is unlocked: http://youtu.be/OKwxn0hh86Y Freethevita confirms it too http://youtu.be/4fIvMhY4CU8 Thank you for showing interest!
True, since users can now dual boot firmwares as such like able to switch from official to debug anytime through hardware nand styled.
I mean like this: http://psx-scene.com/forums/content/ps-vita-hardware-hack-allows-dual-booting-firmware-4101/
That's just a PoC and by no means something the end user should be using BTW hello DJ I hope you don't cause trouble on here as well :3
Hello fate6, thank you for your reply. I just thought that as far as this site has many collectors, that someone might have seen this card or probably own it. You might be right because I and many others don't know much about the inside of it, its just a PoC as you said but why not to give it try and search for it a little bit further? I mean, nobody is sure if there can be found something usefull with the way katsu did. By the way, this shouldn't concern you here. I've personally changed a lot and I am here asking for something from people who write with gentility! Have a nice day!
Sorry to bump this but does anyone in here have a Kiosk PSVita on IDU firmware 3.01 and see if it auto shutdown every 5 mins or so?
Late response but yes it is normal! The best firmware was 2.81 (even if the device was automatically checking for updates on start up). You can also bypass the auto-restart,freethevita and I have also posted the trick.
ahh, okay coolz! btw, couldn't this be useful to get exploited games incase the servers update or if the game gets removed and no way of accessing the PSN Store to grabbing it.
I will have a Demo Vita unit inbound to me very soon, but I would like to ask 3 questions below 1) Is it better to have and perform a update to the latest demo/ kiosk firmware? (Any changes worthy of updating?) 2) Can we run TN-V4 exploit on a Demo Vita unit to run PSP ISO? (Does it runs like a normal Vita once its out of the Demo mode?) 3)What is the latest Demo/Kiosk firmware available now? Thanks for your time!
1. Yeah an update to the lastest Kiosk firmware is fine and i'd believe there are usually new changes or additions to it so yup it's pretty important of course. 2. Well if there's a PSP game on the Store that has the available exploit you can download it without needing the PSN Store at all via download content url option ;-) 3. I believe it's the same one as the new official sony firmware i think, GodGen may know sorry
Thanks DSwizzy145 for the prompt reply! I guess I also will wait for GodManGen input on this matter. =)
No problem! glad to give a quick helping hand when needed, sorry i couldn't be more informal about these Kiosk features but guaranteed they are sorta useful for certain things ;-)
