Hidden gems or suggestions I might've overlooked? Prefer physical releases as I've got a 4GB card.
Sony car adapter and screen protector are foolish to skip. Unless some other brand is better.

Disgaea 3 looks tempting, cheaper than the all PS3 DLC bundle. Imports not reliant on Japanese text or PSN are OK too.

Ys: Memories of Celceta and/or a couple of those cheap Playstation Mobile games which a few are very worth the purchase like Sword of Rapier for an example.

Ys looks really good!!! I need it!!!

Uncharted is a good game, can't go wrong with it.
DOA5 is nice looking as well but the story mode drags on for ages... Zzz...
Killzone is a great showcase for the system and it plays really nicely in campaign and online.
I like Ridge Racer too, not everybody's cup of tea but it's fun enough if you get into the concept of the game.

If you have a PSVita i suggest getting a bigger memory card asap. I have an 8GB one that came with the system and it's already an issue, specially because PlayStationPlus offerings. I truly hope Sony announces cheaper prices at E3. I think it's the only problem with the system right now.

As for games, i can recommend Killzone Mercenary. It's an amazing technical achievement on the system. LittleBigPlanet Vita is very addicting. I never cared much for LittleBigPlanet on the PS3 (have the first one) but the game is great on the Vita. Wipeout 2048 is awesome, only annoyance being the load times.

Other games people usually suggest: Persona 4 Golden, Tearaway, Uncharted, Sly Collection, Sly Thieves in Time, Muramasa Rebirth, Dragon's Crown, Soul Sacrifice, Gravity Rush, Rayman Origins and Legends... If you like indie games, there's tons on the vita, plus some PSP and PS1 games. I got Hotline Miami with Plus (never planned on buying it) and it's tons of fun. But even most being a small download, after some very short time you'll need space on the memory card.

Some future releases i'm curious about are Phantasy Star Nova and Freedom Wars.

I can recommend Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable. You can buy it on PSN but I think it would be better if you bought the JP/ASIA version because the game isn't very reliant on your knowledge of the japanese language and buying the fisical cart you won't waste your memory space.

As others have said, Killzone Mercenary is a amazing showcase of what this console is capable of and is really fun to play.

Lumines: Electronic Symphony is also really good and cheap.
Need for Speed Most Wanted is also really good and it's the almost the same game as the X360/PS3 versions.
Persona 4 Golden is the best RPG on the console.
Rayman Origins and Legends are absolutely beautifiul on the Vita screen and run great. I think the Vita versions are the best versions released.
Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed is a great kart racing game. I have put a lot of hours into it. I just can't tell you if it's better than ModNation Racer because I still haven't played it yet.
Tearaway is amazing. You have to play it. All Vita owners have to play it. It's different from anything else released for the Vita and other consoles.
Uncharted is nice, I liked it more than Uncharted 3.
Wipeout 2048 is beautiful and fun but it's very hard.

    It's a wifi model with 8GB. I didn't ask, heh.

Can play some of my PSN stuff like Retro City Rampage, Disgaea 1 etc. Plus about 30 or so PS1 classics including FF7.
Turns out I've been sitting on the free Motorstorm RC and Michael Jackson games for two years. Not that those matter.

Uncharted is an amazing work from Sony Bend, specially considering they didnt know too much about the PSVita hardware. But not as good as other Sony Bend works (i mean, Dark Mirror and Logan's Shadow).

Try to get a TN-V ninja exploit and enjoy a Playstation Portable with infinite times better screen, much better controls and better performance.

I got done with (Platinumed) Ys' the other day and it might be the best game I've played on Vita. There's this giant world map with towns and it felt a lot like an old rpg only with a really good fighting system.

Shinobido is a lot of fun and controls nicely. Uncharted looks amazing and plays ok just like the console titles. Ridge Racer and Katamari although lacking a bit in content are fine versions of those titles.

There's Puyo Puyo Tetris which I got on ps3 but wish I'd got on Vita instead. Great game and not too hard to navigate.

In Spelunky you can play multiplayer with one person on the ps3 and one on the vita and with each player having a separate screen it's possible to run ahead without killing the other player. It's so much better this way.

Miku is good too depending on your tolerance for that sort of music. I got a lot out of the Extreme mode anyway it's as good as any intense action game. On the other hand I'm not that big on Dj Max Technica Tune I found most of the music bland and boring but that's just me. The game does get pretty hectic though.

I reckon it's a really nice handheld I see people shitting on it just about everywhere but the amount of dodgy and pervy Japanese titles coming out on it is just wild. Lots of them are being localised which is great and the only thing I don't like is the accounts system and the way some games are getting translated then only released on psn. That's happening with every system but none with memory so expensive.

@Antecendant I 100% agree as well! but most of those backlash statements are coming from Nintendo fanboys that think the 3DS is better than anything else on the market (including the Vita sadly) and try stuffing it into people's minds & shit! In my honest opinion, ANY Playstation Mobile/Indie user created games on that section are Hellva lot better than ANY Nintendo 3DS game that's on the market now!! (except for Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner 2 :D lol)

Guess you haven't played Fire Emblem Awakening, or Super Mario 3D Land, or Animal Crossing: New Leaf, or A Link Between Worlds, or Kid Icarus Uprising, etc...

@7Force Just only Fire Emblem: Awakening & The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds are the only good ones also on the market imho plus the Japan only imports are great too! like Game Center CX 3, Dragon Quest Monsters 2 3DS, Persona Q (well coming to the USA pretty soon), etc..
